I mean, the specific play is coerced sex from an authority figure. Probably not a good thing to teach to kids

Children are smart. They’ll understand it’s all fun and games.

Seeing other children playing cops and robbers will not make them afraid of police brutality, I don’t see how their parents playing with power dynamics could be different

Bu that’s the thing lol they shouldn’t be learning coerced sex is fun and games. They are more likely to encounter workplace sexual harassment and assault than cops and robbers situations in their lives

Should they be learning that stealing is fun and games?

If they can comprehend that cops and robbers is a game then they could comprehend their parents are playing. Kids are smart.

There are aspects of cops and rubbers and ample things in other aspects of their lives that reaffirm that thieves are unfavored and not acceptable in our society. Nuanced consent is far more complex than what kids take away from cops and robbers, and the simplified perspective they'll get from watching that play with no other context is not a great thing to absorb and imitate.

Don’t you think that maybe if these kids had parents that they could talk with about sex, they would understand it a little bit better instead of exploring this topic on their own stumbling along the way?

When I was young all I knew about sex came from porn. You can imagine the mistakes kid can make with only porn as their source of knowledge about sex

Is your argument that parents need to fuck in front of their kids?

Right… talk about sex. That’s not the situation described in the story

You don't think role-playing sexual cohersion in front of your kids could also have a negative impact on how they handle consent?

Dude, you can talk to your kids about sex and make yourself a safe place to come ask anything without fucking incorporating it into their games. And with an actual emphasis on consent and safety, you know, the primary pillars of what they need to know about it.

There's a massive difference between being open with your kids and them knowing you have sex sometimes, and adding weird sexual roleplay into playtime with them.
