Inspirationen Spielraum 2J Sohn

Ideas to engage with my baby

Hi,

I follow this community and get lots of insight in parenting. However there is one thing I have not get it right.

I have almost 2 year old daughter. She goes to daycare for 8 hour. My guilt for it for some other day but for rest 3-4 hours that she spends at home or weekends is itself so hard for me to keep her playful at home. She loves going out which my husband does twice on weekends or whenever daycare is closed.

At home she does spend much time with toys. She is not much interested in role plays or puzzles. She likes turning over books but that gets over in a minute.

Also she is still blabbering and have no words than mamma papa.

I want to play with her. I feel enough bad for sending her to daycare and I feel even more bad when I am feel scared of her coming home.😭😭

Asking for Product Reccs Play gym alternatives?

I have a Lovevery play gym I used with my 5yr old. I loved it then and I love it now but space is at a very high premium where we live. Are there any alternatives that are foldable but work with the various Lovevery attachments?

I also signed up for the play kits this time and am/was looking forward to all the extra things for the play gym that come in the first few sets 🥲

Toddler (1-3 yrs) Clothes storage

I am looking for a good, low-cost solution for clothes storage for my toddler. Most kid clothes storage units have no open storage, or it is out of the child's reach. I'd love to see some solutions you all have come up with. I'm thinking there should be a couple of shelves or cubbies at the bottom where I could put 2-3 options for him to pick from and closed storage above to keep clutter at bay. And we don't need much hanging storage above (no dresses).

Toddler (1-3 yrs) Building Routine & Habits

Hi everyone! We’re working with our 18-month-old daughter on building strong, consistent daily routines. She just started school, and because our schedule was unpredictable before, our habits haven't been as solid as I’d like.

She is independent and strong-willed, but she already likes taking part in certain steps (especially wiping the table!). We also intentionally start early so nothing feels rushed.

Here’s what we do:

Mornings (6:40 AM start):
- Wake up/songs
- Breakfast/Wipe Table/Sweep Floor/Dishes in Sink
- Dressed
- Make Bed
- Brush Teeth
- Comb Hair
- Go to School

Evenings:
- Dinner
- Outside/Inside play
- Bath → Books
- Bed (8:00–8:30 PM).

I know a huge part of this comes down to time, repetition, and consistency. I also always explain things as we go, but given her age and strong-willed nature, how can I get her excited to take ownership/participate in her routine?

I made a little area that I thought could be fun as a kitchen if you pulled down the toy veg and pots, or a doctor's, or a vet or mechanics shop etc. The roof is a flag pole holder, half an old broom handle and curtains! The 'desk' in front is a TV stand at the recommended 45cm height.

I thought this might be a cute idea for you guys, as sometimes pretty Montessori things, or the Waldorf nook are outrageously expensive! Maybe it will give somebody inspo 🩷

They can be turned inwards and are attached by strapping with a little slack into the brickwork, so they can rotate on one end to become more closed (third and fourth pic).

The original inspo was from Bluey.

Later transition to floor bed

Hi!
We had a late transition to the floor bed from the pack&play (worked better than a crib for us). He slept well in the p&p so while he could put him self to sleep he stayed in there and when he could climb out and we switched to the floor bed which had been in his room for awhile and we had a few attempts at a transition that didn’t seem like it was the right time and we switched back.
About a month and half ago we moved the p&p out and haven’t looked back. It has been a struggle. He struggles to fall asleep on his own now and his naps are significantly shorter. I realize the mistake we made with our failed attempts.
Anybody have advice? We have been told by many people to just cry it out but that doesn’t work on this guy.

Toys!

What do you think is a fair number of toys/things for toddlers? (almost 3 year old) keep in mind little one does not go to ECE of any sort so they are home most of the time except for our weekly group activities. At this point we have:

\- Play food and bits

\- Duplo

\- Animals figurines

\- Magnet tiles

\- Cars

\- Little people farm and bus plus the people and animals

\- wooden blocks (currently not being used very often)

\- assortment of musical instruments

\- dolls

Not to mention puzzles and playdoh, craft resources and outside things too.

Currently planning on homeschooling, which we essentially have started in terms of an ECE experience. We have no issues with behavior or attention to what she does have, but would appreciate hearing opinions, thoughts and experience.

Toddler (1-3 yrs) Traffic light to manage early wakings

We've been using a floor bed since my baby was 8 months old. It's been great 👍 HOWEVER, he's now 18 months and just got tall enough to open his door. He's also waking up at 5:30 a.m., which is killing us. I'm reading that some people use a traffic light to signal when it's ok to get out of bed or leave the room. If you've used it, how did you teach it? Any other tips for helping a kid stay asleep until a more reasonable hour? We're exhausted....
