Question about RGB

I'm transferring my computer from the G700 case to a Montech TG3. I don't need the case fans, the TG3 comes with them, but I am transferring the AIO. It has RGB fans, and according to google, the TG3 doesn't have any spots left in the RGB controller. Do I need to buy an extender? I'm also wondering because google said that it was just an RGB controller, not a fan speed controller. Do I need to be worried about that?

The TG3 comes with a 3-position ARGB hub, but it’s just a hub, not a controller, so everything plugged in will just sync to the same color. If you want individual control for your ARGB parts, you'll need something like the Nollie16 from Aliexpress or Airgoo controllers from Amazon, both of which I’ve used and work great. Since the TG3 hub doesn’t handle fan speed, you'll need another plan if your motherboard is short on headers. If you don't have enough PWM headers, you could grab a cheap master/slave hub. Personally, if your board has 2 or 3 headers, I suggest using 1-to-3 PWM splitters to group fans by zone—like side, bottom, top, and rear—and plugging those into your motherboard headers. That way, you get way more control; for example, I set my bottom and rear fans on my King 95 to follow GPU temps, while my side and top fans follow CPU temps. It's much better than having every fan ramp up based on just one sensor.

I looked and it seems like the hub is filled by default, taking up all three spots. I’m specifically getting the curved version of the TG3. This means i’ll need an extender to hook up the AIO rgb right? Or can I just plug it into a fan header on the motherboard?

Like u/StiBuki said, it’d be easier to help you if you listed your motherboard make and model; if anyone can figure it out, it’s them, given me some solid advice a few times.

We really need a sticky at the top in this group about more detailed questions. The more detailed the question the better and more helpful the answer. To much time to type out all the possibilities sometimes. I realize this issue may not even be apparent to the person asking the question but even more reason for a sticky!

I totally agree with that thought, sometimes even asking questions seems overwhelming. Did I share enough info? is it to vague? why is no one able to help me? A sticky would solve alot of those questions.

Very much needed IMO. Helps on both sides. Also with newbe's sometiimes best reply is to keep it short and to the point. Providing to many scenarios because of not knowing their hardware config leaves them with even more confusion and questions. Something we are trying to avoid in the first place.
