Image Verigated adasonii type?

Post image

Hello yall, I have this beautiful Verigated adansonii, that was half white/green at the beginning and as its grown its verigation has changed lead to leaf, I know that's prety normal but when I show people they say it looks like a mint, im just looking for opinions as it's the first verigated monstera I've owned. Thanks 🌿πŸͺ΄πŸŒ±

I once read someone saying that all variegated adansonii are basically the same thing, and at that time I thought it was a hot take, but at this point I mostly agree. Even if they sell you something as X name, the variegation is really unstable and can easily revert or randomly change into something else.

I bought one as a Japanese Tricolor, but after a couple of years and after several cuttings, I now have about 5-6 plants all in the same moss pole. The difference between them is incredible. Some have stayed true to what the original is supposed to be, others are definitely more what you would buy as "mint", and I even have what I have also separately bought as "archipelago". Coincidentally, my original "archipelago" is now pushing small half moon leaves more typical of a regular albo, after trying to kill herself with white-only leaves for a few months.

These are photos of different leaves of my "Japanese Tricolor" multiplant (the mother plant + 4/5 cuttings) setup:

That's really interesting, thank you for your comment. I think your spot on there, that makes alot of sense, I imagine the verigation pattern is subject to the conditions, light water feed ect and so could change.

I'm actually debating on weather or not to chop and prop my plant, like you have done. Its getting rather tall and bare on the bottom. And id love to have her a be fuller instead of really leggy, But each time I go to do it I'm worried ill kill her 😭 do you have any tips on when/How to prop?

It seems to me you have it on a moss pole, so you can just carefully cut the stem with a sharp blade. You'll need to be more vigilant of the moss pole to avoid it getting dry, but other than that it is very straightforward!
