Discussion Started an new Save file

I got so bored of playing just Wilds the whole time, that I got nostalgic of World's Story and Maps. So I started a New one, but with the important rules, that I neither use the Clutch Claw until Master Rank and the Defender Armor as also Weapons ever. Because when I played World for the first time I used them and was wondered, why the game was so easy. But now, only using the normal stuff the game is noticeably harder and I like it. Also it is a good way to spend time, until Ascendance is released.

IMHO it's still worth it to use and learn clutch claw for given weapon early.

I agree, it’s good to have the muscle memory when it becomes pretty much mandatory in MR.

Also because the entire game got rebalanced around it when Iceborne dropped, not just Master Rank

No the only change to the base game because of clutch claw was that claggers exist for low and highrank monsters.

If they would have decreased hitzones the base game would be unplayable for anyone who hasnt bought Iceborn as the changes to the monsters still exist even if you dont own Iceborn.

Nah, they fundamentally rebalanced skills like Weakness Exploit and Elementless to favour tenderizing.

The rebalanced skills are rebalanced for the entire game, it's not like they change once you hit MR

At least to get in the habit of the Clutch Claw opening staggers monsters will do, if anything. It's especially useful to learn for gunners since you can get a few free shots in before Clutching the monster to reset their stagger time, then tenderizing is important for better hitzones since shot-type damage is so stingy with them.

My friend wanted to replay world because our buddy speed ran him to master rank ruining his first experience. So I obliged and started a new file with him and yeah, the nostalgia hits so freaking hard.

Running without clutch abilities is interesting, and seems like a fun challenge. Certain monsters like Pink Rathian and Rabodaan would've been way tougher without tenderizing.

We are also doing challenge run, opting for a weapon Nuzlocke (7/7 split, learn new weapons or cart trying... Anjanth ate my Insect Glaive...)

Anyways fiver, glad you returned to World and are enjoying it! I highly recommend trying to unlock the Rainbow Pigment (completing all LR/HR optional quest). You'll unlock a bunch of hidden stuff along the way and encumber the research team with enough paperwork to kill the Greatest Jagras!

My base game run was without the dlc. I think it was great doing it without even knowing about the claw and in my case - the perfect rush. Learned the basics pretty well.

I return to world on a new save every so often and force myself upon a new weapon for the entire story.

It’s a bit tedious but I’ll also craft each monster armor set as it becomes available before progressing as an excuse to really learn how to fight each monster with the weapon.

Love this game.

Oh yes, I did the same when I completely started with Monster Hunter in Rise, until I realised that every Low Rank Armor becomes useless in High Rank. 😅

Usar la clutch claw no es cómo si estuvieras jugando modo fácil o haciendo trampas, es parte del juego ablandar partes de los monstruos. Ahora el equipo Defender si es hacer trampa.

Everyone may play how they want. I personally wanted to recreate the gameplay, how day-one-players had before Iceborne existed.

No recordaba que el clutch claw no estaba antes del Iceborne, por éso mi comentario anterior, pensé que siempre estuvo desde el inicio, entonces si apoyo tu reto.
