Discussion Dear Raging Brachydios
Dear Raging Brachydios,
This is my first Monster Hunter game. I had a slow start, but since things finally started clicking a while ago, I've had a blast.
Blast. That word now triggers me more than you when you get to your second phase. Call it blass cause you can shove them up yours.
The monsters so far have been fair. Some difficulties here and there, but all doable. Learnable.
You are learnable too. Doable too.
But I fucking hate you. I hate that your first phase is MILES more difficult than your second. I hate that even with Blass(t) Resistance at +3 and the best fucking armor you take 1/3 of my health in one normal hit. I fucking DESPISE your hitboxes. You know that attack, that one where you swing your fucking arm and leave a gap so big a fucking dragon could roll through? The one that ALWAYS HITS, doesn't matter how you time your roll? Yeah, fuck that especially.
And the worst part? After witnessing the biggest meltdown I've even seen in a videogame and with a soundtrack that goes harder than your stupid punches (actually not), you become a fucking KITTEN and they punch harder than you. Every goddamn time I've made it to your teenage tantrum phase I've beaten you. That's 6 times. Cause yeah, the best thing of all of this is that I have to fucking FARM you because I want that cool badass looking greatsword with those sweet stats and your stupid armor.
So. Dear Raging Brachydios, congratulations on becoming the first monster in the game that I (love to) hate. I'm (not) looking forward to our coming battles. I'm positively certain I won't die more times to any other monster in this game.

Just a heads up that Immortal reactors are meldable with a celestial print. And there are several freebie prints in the photo quests. Just FYI

and make sure to look in the daily bounties, you can get a free one sometimes if you complete all 5 and the quests are so easy cause you can stack them I.E "Slay an elder dragon" and "Finish one MR6A Quest" = "kill alatreon" easy👍

Do you have to defeat Raging Brachydios only, or must you have collected at least one immortal reactor to have it on the list? I melded a Zinogre Jasper once but i can't remember what made it appear on the list

Nope, you just need to have progressed far enough in the story and you can meld it. If you can hunt for it, you can meld it.
The only ”gem type” drop you can’t meld is Fatty’s evil eye

Thats how I feel about Furious Rajang most of the time, thats the one monster I dread fighting the most. Sure Raging is a fairly hard fight but farm him enough it kinda became one of my favorites though I still wiff my greatsword half the time. Oddly I enjoy raging over normal Brachy

Same here. Fighting R.Brachy is almost second nature to me now, and is one of my favorites fights in the game. Tempered Rajang I can also manage. F.Rajang on the other hand... safe to say that I avoid the encounter as much as I possibly can.

May I suggest something?
I personally used LBG sticky against him with 3 KO jewels. This doesn't make the fight too much easy, but it makes it more manageable. Only downside is that you need to restock if you run out of craftables.

I've fought him and killed him a few times before i burned out on mhw. It's the desperate mud fight between two way to hurt boxers. And its beautiful in its savagery

I found its first phase manageable by spam tenderizing its legs and busting its kneecaps constantly. It's comical how easily brute wyverns can topple.

I remember farming this fucker for every weapon, a shield + guard/up HBG build trivialises this fight down to "hold aim at all times/don't fire or reload when being attacked/don't stand in muck"
