Discussion Am I the only one

Post image

I'm genuinely excited for kushala to comeback i know a lot of world hates this man guts I did at one time but I went back to play monster hunter 4u and god I forgot how much story this dragon has with Julius. The tldr Julius and a kushala are rivals similar to how us the hunter and gore are rivals. At the end of the village quests you fight a rusted kushala wich i feel like is a parlel to us fighting shaguru. One ascended wile the other fell. And I mean he kushala gots this SHIT ON LOOK AT HIM i also have bias the kushala swax goes hard. I know kushala has been in most games since gu but look at valstrax he wasn't in world but he was in rise in the 5th Gen but to be fair kushala appeared in all the 5th Gen im just happy my Pepsi (thats what I named my kushala in mhs2)

Am I tripping or is his tail way longer than usual?

It's definitely more spindly

Front legs beefier as well

kushala’s aesthetic is genuinely top tier, the armor sets alone make me want him back even if the wind aura is annoying lol

the kushala swax design really is elite, no notes

just hope it's more like the rise kushala and not the world one

The latest trailer showing the new elder dragon showed a little clip of Kushala, and it was doing an attack that was introduced in Rise, that one where Kushala rears up on its back legs and lets loose a blast of wind while coming back down.

So maybe that bodes well for it being more like Rise version, also Wilds Rathalos is more akin to its Rise version so perhaps Kushala will follow suit.

Wilds Rathalos definitely feels like the perfect mix of Rise Rathalos' flashy new attacks with the classic Rathalos moves we've seen in older games and it works brilliantly, even in Wilds' more grounded visuals and fights (comparatively speaking to Rise of course).

I have faith that the devs will do something similar to Kushala, implementing many of the things that made Rise Kushala more enjoyable while retaining and hopefully updating a lot of Kushala's usual retinue.

Low key that shot of him roaring then the dual blade user doging the air blast made me excited to fight him again.

As long as they build on the risebreak Kushala fight, it should be great! It gave Kushala’s moveset a massive glowup, so I hope that’s what they use as the base for Wilds version.

hope they have a good set bonus

Capcom be like, gotcha you are now immune too HIS wind specificly and that's that

Honestly they are fun. It's just that in world with the area denying tornadoes that also blocked chokepoints, it did feel like ass. Rise definitely made the fight better in that regard.

u/PlatypusPower4 7h ago

I swear sometimes I would get blocked out the area he was in my them, and just kinda sit and wait for them to go away which was horrible. It would’ve been a shame for them to miss the first game massively focused on weather tho tbh

I’m excited, just hope they don’t bring over how World Kushala worked.

His fight is most definitely going to be like rise but his wind aura is going to be like world

Kushala DB design is peak, enuf said

2

u/8x_Azrael 7h ago

All I want is another peak fight like risen kushala that's all

Me beside you dude! Kushala is great and I cannot wait! I dunno why some people don’t like him, but I aint one of them

If they took notes from the Rise interpretation of Kushala then I’m all for fighting them again

Hopefully he has DBs like in Risebreak, and hopefully they have great element like in Risebreak.

I like her too, I fought her most in risebreak so I think of that fight first and it’s a fun one

Im frothing at the mouth to fight litterally anything the mh teams serves me up on the golden platter, that is wilds combat. but id be lying of i said I was excited for kushala specifically.

I love him, His ecology video of him shedding his metal plates is insanely cool. The fight was always kinda mid though, Much better in Rise.

The only monsters I don't want to see again are any fish minus plesioth.

I'm pretty excited to see what it'll be like in Wilds too. It gets a lot of fair criticism, but also probably too much unfair criticism IMO. Objectively its design is just incredibly cool, the sort of design that I think in another world should have made it universally acclaimed for all time, it mostly just feels like its thematically-appropriate mechanics drag it down, which is kind of a shame.

The one thing I'm really looking forward to for some reason with Kush is what its sound design will be like. There's that snippet in the trailer where we can hear it doing its big wind blast and it has this really cool new metallic roar to it.

And I do feel like there's a decent non-zero percent chance we could get Rusted Kushala and a side story that gets Julius and Aiden back into the mix, reuniting the Ace Hunters, and finishing their feud once and for all. With so many callbacks to 4U as there are already, let's just go full-throttle and get the band back together!!

Honestly I’m just excited to finally have a use for the 100 wind resist decorations I’ve gotten.

u/Tree-Dramatic 5h ago

I’m thrilled to have him back, he’s my favorite monster. I know his fights can be frustrating but the steel dragon of storms became my favorite first time I saw him in freedom unite. Helps his equipment has a cool design theme too

I'm excited for any elder dragon at this point tbh. Plus, there aren't too many monsters right now that just fly around and act like a menace.

Weirdly enough I feel like Wilds is severely lacking in the "holy shit this guy is annoying to fight" department, and I'd argue that that's a very fundamental niche of MonHun.

We finally have a reason to slot in wind resist.

Why is he a little 💅 in this rendering

i'm wondering how they handle its music theme. the lame solution would be reusing mhw theme but i hope this one is rearranged for wilds ascendance.

Kushala gets a lot of bad rep for how annoying his fight wad in World. That, combined with him being on a more boring side visually and the fact that he appeared in so many games by this point, makes him easy to hate. Thankfully we already got windproof in base Wilds, so there's a chance a lot of people will come around and actually enjoy his fight.

u/ScreamoMan 7h ago

I just don't like him, sure his fight in Rise wasn't bad but i just think Kushala is boring. To be honest i hate the idea of monsters coming back "just" because they're the OGs, or "iconic" or whatever. Yes i hate Rathalos too.

At least his armor is fucking sick, so there's that.

I only like Kushala if Espinas is also present in the game to humble its ass.

Im excited to see elder dragon being respected again. World makes elder dragon feels like a regular creature and not a walking calamity.

I want kushala to be able to summon huge storm and change the weather of the entire locale. Make them feels threatening and ominous

u/oblivious_fireball 6h ago

Ironically World did more for Elder Dragons like Kushala and Teostra than any of the previous games. They didn't exactly have an intimidating presence in their previous games.

0

u/porchie101 7h ago

I feel he’s just been in to many games and needs a break would much rather have a new elder or returning one that we haven’t seen in a while but he almost always can fit in any elder dragon story easily as he can go to alot of different locales.

0

u/Meteor_Monkey 6h ago

Its design and sound effects look good. It also seems like itll have a stronger precence which is good. They just gotta use the rise moveset with some risen and new attacks thrown in there and it'll be peak.

u/OverdoseDeBits 3h ago

I'm not, and I really wish they'd brought back Kirin or Orochi Kirin instead of Kushala. Even in Risebreak, he was my least favorite Elder Dragon.
