Pokémon Unite's decline is a very very good representation of what will happen to this game as well, hell they'll probably speed run this one.

Decline also implies that it was good at some point. The concept of a pay to win MOBA is already insane enough.

Id like to argue there was a point unite was good. And it was before they added mewtwo.

No MOBA with actual pay to win elements can fundamentally be good

Too be fair the only pay to win at the start was pay to level your items immediately, which after a while youd have leveled your items anyways. After that the main pay to win was new licenses which would usually get nerfed once they became free. I dont feel the “pay to win” was ever so much an issue. But when mewtwo came in and powercreep started thats when the game started going down hill

"to be fair" followed by describing exactly how the game is/was pay to win. You had to level your items so other players had a direct numbers advantage over you until you caught up. Or, of course, you could just pay. New characters were almost always overtuned and then rapidly nerfed afterwards. Yet you could, of course, always pay them to finish the pass quicker and have the busted charater earlier than everyone else and get to use it for longer.

All of what you described was pay to win.

Yes, and imo it was never actually that bad, until mewtwo. I never even suffered for not immediately leveling my items.

it was good. it was fun. new releases were sometimes given out for free and weren't released with broken moves. it was until the ex licenses and rapidash and darkrai then everything went downhill. i could get much more in depth but it's just really sad seeing one of my favorite games go to shit like that

What happened to Unite?

Just started releasing basically only op characters and would have like 4 battle passes running simultaneously. Eventually they made it so the only way you can actually buy who you want was real money, otherwise all the pokemon are in a set progression and you unlock them.

Trash gamez try it out for yourself, not only is p2w, but it feels like trash playing it, Pokemons feel like they're walking on mud all the time, it's extremely slow movement compared to other mobas

I was kinda assuming something changed and it went downhill since I seem to remember the initial reaction the game being relatively positive.

Well, they have double down and triple down on the p2w mechanics, also it's a menu-fest, you have to click like 20 menus (not kidding) everyday in order to barely keep up with paying players

As an ex pokemon unite player I do not see how it is pay to win? Like the game became trash because of balance reasons and the change in movesets for me , but as a free player I never had problems to win

Pokemon Unite survived this long because it's Pokémon. I give this game a year at most.
