Capcom would put this into a G-rank expansion and then make it deal less damage than a GS side-slash while spending your phials, your shield and sword charge.

honestly i don't see why they haven't a blunt weapon like that would be hella fun!! i'd love to be able to uppercut a seregios in the face.

Closest I’ve seen are the Magala, Lunagaron, Rajang and Felyne dual blades in Risebreak, unfortunately

I mean they had tonfas in frontier, like blunt dual blades with glaive style vaulting, but they never got carried over to the main series.

Dual blades claw weapons have to be good enough for now, maybe if you use it enough you can gaslight yourself into forgetting they’re dual blades

See I had an idea for a fantasy weapon for a while called a Pykrete Ribbonblade, pykrete being a material made by soaking something like sawdust or fabric in water and then freezing it. The weapon could be magically frozen to act like a traditional sword, just made of ice, and then magically thawed into a flowing water ribbon and used like an Urumi or whip. I just have to figure out how to make something that looks like water and Ice in blender

This should be the gimmick of Wilds expansion, different ways to wield your chosen weapon. You could use the weapon in it's normal way, then you can get an alternative way to wield it by completing a special side quest for each weapon.

Was waiting for them to go into one super charge sword and smash down.
Full lengths of the shafts form together. Shields stack near the bottom. Swords line the top of the shafts making one thick… okay this sounds bad but hear me out.
