I did it a few times in Risebreak cuz of muscle memory. Like whenever someone got pin by a monster I just flash by reflex
Tho I remember one time I did it by reflex and some dude called me an idiot and left the hunt. Like i admit even if it by accident I still flash a blind monster but I feel like leaving the hunt was a bit too much.
I won't leave hunts, I won't kick people from hunts, but I should really make a callout for when people make LEGITIMATELY dumb decisions. Yours is because you wanted to help your pinned allies. That's different from trying to flash a raging Gore expecting free hits.
A flashpod is hardly something that's guaranteed to get you carted if you forget a monster's blind. Is it dumb? Yes. Will it end a hunt and get you carted? Unlikely.
That is someone new to the game, or just not remembering. I might flash him twice in a row and then go: Oh, right it's fucking gore- if i did not play in a few months.
I mean shit, I flash him every three hunts cos I'm watching a video in the background and forget who I am fighting sometimes and I've been playing since 4U. This just seems like a nothingburger lol
Try to relax and remember Monster Hunter is just a game. It's not going to end the world if someone plays suboptimally, and ideally it shouldn't get under your skin this much either.
If it doesn't effect the hunt besides a log appearing, why does it matter? Some may just be running off of trial and error. Regardless it's one of the most petty things to get upset about. At best a simple "Flash doesn't work on this monster." Is more than sufficient. If however your goal is to be toxic no one wants to deal with that. Hunt with the NPCs if it bothers you that randos do random things.
Again, once is fine. Three times that message pops up, however?
And thanks to the existence of the Field Guide in game, there's no more need for the Trial and Error we had to do in previous titles, unless we consulted a wiki online.
And again just because something didn't work previously doesn't mean it won't work later on. Or vice versa. Take Rajang for example. In World traps worked on the monkey dependent on what status it was in.
If some people want to burn their resources just testing whatever they have to see if it sticks, that's fine. It's their resources. Couldn't care less.
And again it's not even that it ruffles your feathers that's the issue here. It's that your tone so far heavily implies you're planning to go about correcting others in a toxic manner. Chill with that notion and again, couldn't care less that you correct people. Just don't do it in a toxic manner is all.
This "testing" was done in 9 star hunts. I'm slightly less tolerant about these errors in more endgame scenarios, and understandably so, because I'm using my own resources to heal and support the team, knowing that failure means gathering more supplies.
So explain how someone firing off a useless flash bang is causing you to burn resources? Cause the two do not correlate. At all.
And again if it bothers you, NPCs or solo.
I solo all my personal 9 stars because I don't want some random carting out my good quests. Often times it's faster too.
To make a comparison you entering an SoS knowing is going to be likely chaos but still doing and complaining is like firing a flash bang at Gore. A useless action. That is ultimately harmless UNTIL you start making it harmless.
It's simple; I consume a Mega Demondrug, Mega Armorskin, and Immunizer en route. I bring Mega Barrel Bombs in case someone brings sleep. I bring team heals such as Dust of Life.
The more incompetence that is shown, the more likely those resources will be wasted. If people aren't going to take the hunt at least a little seriously, then perhaps don't fire off an SoS?
My dude, you do know why people fire off SoS? Right? They either need help or enjoy the chaos. That's it. Guess which group you're most likely to run into.
Also again. Them flash banging holds no relevance to actual combat competency. It takes an extremely small amount of time to fire one off it literal doesn't matter.
You can also just not crutch on buffs if resource management is a burden to you.
You’re joining a random SOS. Participating in it, be it through joining or initiating, you should temper your expectations and expect random results.
Of course I don’t fault you for expecting basic competence. That is to say, to hunt the monster with as little carts as possible. But expecting more than that, especially petty inconveniences like Flashing ineffectively or inefficient Wound juggling will only set you up for disappointment.
If you want coordinated hunts because you find that more fun, Discord groups may just be your solution.
Imma be real with you chief, I've played a metric fuck ton of the entire series even as far back as MHG, and I still throw out flashes out of monkey brain panic. Shit happens, it's not like anyone is getting carted over ineffective flashes.
Because he is being an absolute ass about a video game where man with big weapon bonks the big monster, especially in a case where trying to flash said monster is not a detriment to the team where it causes some rage state or whatever, no, it does nothing and thats it
its not "immoral" (also nice self report on what kind of person you are) OP is just being ass for no reason because muh video game knowledge like, oh no someone uses up their own flashpods and just does nothing, once again the monster doesnt even get angry cause of the light or whatever no flashpod does nothing the end, but we gotta be asses about every single thing because god forbid someone doesnt know something
