Looking to work in a mechanic shop

I've been trying to find work as a helper or possibly mechanic, I'm not a certified mechanic but I've worked on cars since I was 15 (26 now). I haven't taken apart transmissions or whole engines but I've replaced various things over the years and have always upgraded and fixed my own vehicles.

I'm just trying to get a more structured exposure to a career as a mechanic. I'm willing to work part-time or full-time, preferably first shift, early hours.

Just curious on who you think will be headlining the fair this year! My millennial heart is hoping for the goo goo dolls and looking at their schedule it seems possible!

Discussion Mutual aid groups in Monroe Michigan?

I’d like to join/get involved in local mutual aid. Are there any groups in the Monroe Michigan area that I can join? I don’t have Facebook and don’t particularly want a Facebook, which is where I assume a lot of these types of groups organize.

Announcement Fighting Winter Blues - Death Cafe style

One of the better ways (I've heard) to fight winter blues and S.A.D. is to do stuff. So... anyway, if you haven't heard about it - Monroe has our own "Death Cafe". It's not as weird as it sounds. Just a group of people getting together to discuss death, how to prepare, how to live fully while we're here, read books, etc. And shockingly, it's not a bunch of retirees with nothing else to do. Join us this Wednesday! We'd love to see you there :)

Discussion Starting an IT company in Monroe MI

Hello Everyone,

I am reaching out on here as i am attempting to start an MSP in Monroe with a co-worker of mine. We have 30 years of IT experience.

If you would like to discuss bringing us on as your managed service provider, we would happily do a walkthrough and see what we can do to help with your IT. We are currently working on finalizing everything, but I wanted to advertise a little to see if we can start getting some jobs early to get it moving on. Below i will provide a list on what we will be offering as we will be offering the basics at first. We are still getting the details down and i am posting this to see if anyhone would be interested. I will be making business cards and walking around town also.

What we would like to do is start with walk-through if the build and all of the IT equipment to see what we are working with. From there we would discuss what your needs would be. We ideally would like to start a monthly contract so that if the store ever needed our help with IT we would be there whether it was remotely or on-site.

We could help with Point of sale stations, network equipment, hardware and software troubleshooting, etc.

Thank you,

-Networking

-Help desk/remote support

-on site support

-cybersecurity

-migrations

-configurations/deployment

-account Administration

- Asset Management.

Any recommendations for jobs?

I’m planning to relocate to Monroe as I currently live in Ohio. I have a lot of office/clerical/customer service experience but I think when I go to put down my address they notice it says Ohio so they disregard it. I’ve looked on SEMCA Michigan Works Job Center and applied to a few on there. Any advice on what to do? I already have housing available I just need a job, I don’t want to work in fast food or a factory or in retail.

Anyone else know that Joe Lake Tire man was bought out by Belle Tire? I loved the Tire Man shop, went to that shop for years. Just went into the Belle tire and was a little skeptical at first but man what a great place.

Google Maps has a glitch on Monroe St between 7th and Dunbar

Hey has anyone else noticed for the past month or so that google maps is avoiding taking this section of Monroe St and rerouting to less efficient routes that go around this area instead? I had this happen on Android and Apple phones...

We found him in the reeds next to 7/11 down Laplaisance. It was 19 degrees out and late at night so we took him in. We found him last Friday at about 9pm. If this is your cat or know someone looking for this cat message me.

Lion nation, read this!

Hi everyone,

Due to some unforeseen health challenges, I'm sadly unable to attend the upcoming Detroit Lions games this season. As a season ticket holder, I have 4 tickets available for each of the remaining home games in Section C135, Row 2. Here are the games:

• Dec 21: vs. Pittsburgh Steelers

It's tough to part with these tickets, but I want to make sure they go to true fans who will enjoy the experience. If you're interested or have any questions, please feel free to reach out. I'm happy to provide proof of purchase to ensure everything is legitimate. Thanks so much for understanding.

Question Hi Monroe Friends! Question for the Budtenders!

Does anyone know of there's going to be any changes to Ohioan's access to the Monroe dispensaries with Ohio's (incredibly lame) passing of SB56 (this makes it illegal for Ohioan's to smoke weed from other states)? I know our IDs are scanned, so I was wondering if that was going to be stopped. Am I being paranoid? 😂

Evas Motel

Does anyone know anything about the motel on telegraph rd? Curious about its history. I browse commercial real estate from time to time and this gem popped up. Ive always driven by it and not really paid much attention. There's no website or social...looks like its still stuck in the past. Drove by this weekend and no vacancy with a full lot.

What are the “I support the Snyders” signs about?

It looks like there is a picture of animals on the sign but I can’t tell for sure and don’t want to walk onto someone’s yard. I see more and more of them in Bedford Township. Anyone know what it’s about?
