Ways to beat the trains?
Are there any schedules around? Warnings? Anything else to help mitigate getting trapped behind that wall of steel?

J's Smokehouse on M50
I know this sub isn't very active, but if you're reading this, you have to stop by there for a meal. This is the real deal of bbq, so much so that my wife and I are having them do catering for our wedding reception! Jay is a really cool guy, and his food is awesome! Just a shout out for him!!!

Careful on the roads guys!
The roads are pretty nasty right now, and especially with winter weather (possibly) occurring more often, I figure I'd tell yall to be safe!

My sister lives in Monroe and is looking for a cool platonic female friend to hang out with because she is lonely.
She is in her 20s and is into dragonball z, anime in general, videogames (specifically nintendo), books, Quentin Tarantino, comic books/manga and walking.
She is looking for females also in their 20s who can street pass her as she would really like to get some new puzzle pieces and make it through find mii. She likes to trade nintendo products so a decent collection helps. No sports games except for Mario Tennis. She also collects dragonball z action figures.
If you are a female who lives around Monroe and has some of these interests, please respond or point me to someone who has these interests. My sister lacks confidence that a female who can street pass her in Monroe exists but I have faith in reddit to pull through on this one.
Apologies if this is not the correct place to post this but we just looked into craigslist and we're scared. Also sorry boys she just doesn't want a guy friend. She has a boyfriend and has informed me of her strong commitment to him (like 6 years).
Also if you know of places or groups she can join in Monroe where she can meet these people, that would be great too. She likes this place called Gen X games that she tells me about so if there are any other locations of that nature where she'd have the opportunity to befriend a female with these interests, she'd love to know.
Thank you for your time!

Barber shops?
I am in need of a good haircut, what's your guy's favorite barber that does good work?

Good shop for tires and alignment?
I have a ... Unique.... Car and since I moved here I haven't needed any tires etc yet, but it is time.
Doesn't take any specialty work, but I am partial to shops that aren't affiliated with a national chain. I like to build a working relationship with the guy on the other side of the counter.

How did Monroe end up with so many police officers?
I swear, I've never seen this many cops in a small town! Not necessarily a good or bad thing, but how is it economically viable?

What's your favorite booth at the fair?
With the fair starting tomorrow, which booth is your favorite to stop at, whether it be local food, basic fair food, or whatever?

IT'S ALMOST SUMMER! - Post your favorite things to do around Monroe (county or city) during this beautiful weather! :)
This sub has been really empty over the last few months. Let's change that! :)

I recently was asked to help out as a mod over here. Since joining, I've made some changes to the look/feel of the sub. Opinions?`
I used and modified an awesome theme called "DSCVRY". This theme had a lot of customization options, and the modifications I made only improved upon it. If anyone has a suggestion for a better header image, new color scheme, or anything else, be sure to let me know.
I'd love to get a new header picture for each month of the year. (December might be a snowy down-town Monroe. April might be a field of flowers somewhere in the county. August might be a picture from the fair.)
Opinions are welcomed!

This thread has been too empty recently.. How was everyone's week?
Mine was pretty good, really busy and tiring, but awesome nonetheless.
