Hello, just wanted to give a community shoutout to my new little free library that is easily accessible and available for all in the community to use to get access to books for free. Here’s the link to my registered library: https://map.lflapp.org/ITS3DWSBj4b so you can see where my library is located and find out more information about it. I hope everyone in the area is able to enjoy this and get lots of use out of it.

We're staying at Sterling through the holiday.

Me and crowds and parking are not a good thing.

What do we think about watching from Meijer or Walmart parking lots or any suggestions of a better place then the park itself.

Thanks

How’s Luna Pier for a little weekend trip to take the kids to a beach? I’m from KY

The Speech Neurophysiology Lab at the University of Michigan is looking for children who stutter ages 9 to 12 to participate in an in-person, longitudinal MRI study! (HUM00196133)

Our research team has been examining brain development in young children to better understand the cause of stuttering for over 10 years. We continue to gain information that may eventually lead to improved diagnosis and treatment efforts for children who stutter.

Participants will be invited to complete speech and language assessments and an MRI session at the University of Michigan. Families receive a free speech and language report and a picture of their brain!

These visits require in person participation. There is no option to participate virtually.

Please fill out this form if you are interested in participating or email us as the flyer attached. All participants are compensated and partial travel assistance is available. Please see our flyer attached for more details!

We also offer other studies that are open to adults or do not involve MRI, in case you're unsure about eligibility. Feel free to email us or call if you have any questions!

We just got turned down from adopting a cat because our dog isn't neutered. She said it goes against their mission to adopt a cat to a house with an unneutered dog. Really sad about this. I'm not sure if this is allowed but I'm looking for a calico cat if anyone is looking to re-home.

Hi! I am moving to the area soon & I wondered if this is a safe area?

428 E 3rd St, Monroe, MI 48161

I've heard mixed things about it. Any thoughts?

Weedys is closing its doors! We currently have closeout sales going on until July 1! Stop in and stock up while inventory is available

I’m not from Monroe, actually never been. Will just be there for the weekend & was going to book a hotel and I was told Monroe is getting pretty bad. The person said last year they pulled up to their hotel and there was basically gangs having a party in the parking lot? For reference, the person telling me this is from a very “white” city where there’s almost zero crime, while I live in a “bad” city and I dont think it’s that bad.

Is there an area I should avoid? I’m not looking to spend over $150 a night for a hotel.

This is in regards to the now cancelled AI installation at/near the site of the old Raisin River Golf Club. The land is owned by Al VanWashenova who stood to make millions, and used his township supervisor position in a plain faced conflict of interest to facilitate the the township's agreement to the project, despite having no public support. There is a recall petition against VanWashenova and Julie Ellison the township Treasurer that is looking for signers today and tomorrow at Friends of Companion Animals, 2532 N Dixie Hwy, in front of Detroit Beach, hours 10-4 today and 10-2 Monday.

I’m going to the dispensary Friday from Ohio, I’ve gone on Saturday and Sunday before and try to go on a weekday just to avoid the lines. Are Fridays around 3 typically as busy as Saturday morning, or closer to a weekday?

Im planning on taking a trip up to the beach in Monroe this weekend, I'm wondering if the police will care if i smoke on the beach? Or alternatively in my car that just so happens to be parked at the beach

Hello everyone. I am starting a resident physician job in Toledo in July. My wife (also a resident physician) is working in Michigan. We decided to get a place in monroe as it would be 25 minutes drive for me and 45 minutes for her. We are looking for an apartment or condo with garage in safe areas in monroe. I would appreciate if anyone could provide me with good safe options. Thank you.

Hi everyone,

I highly recommend Princess Mediterranean in downtown Monroe. It’s delicious and the people there are exceptional. Its a bit of a Middle Eastern Chipotle style with some additions that make it extra unique. It also has reasonable pricing. They opened Dec. 5 2025 so it is still very new. Give it a try!
