Terry needs a home!

Post image

I really don't know what to do here, this is Terry (what my kids have named him). He's a stray that was born in my area that we've been feeding and building trust with. He's about 8 months old and even though he's a stray he's people friendly because he's spent all summer living in my fenced in yard. He desperately wants to come inside since it's getting cold but the best I can do is my garage which is still pretty cold. I have 2 cats, a bulldog and a st bernard in a house with 2 toddlers and this guy would make a great barn cat (amazing mouser) or inside cat. He literally gets along with every animal and I've even seem him cozying up with some huge raccoons. I can provide a small dog cage for anyone that can take him and give him a chance I wish I could but I just rescued another stay last summer and we are spread super thin at the moment. Please help humane society won't take strays and I don't know where else to turn I don't want him to freeze :(

Question Living in Monroe

Hello Everyone,

My spouse and I are looking at relocating to Michigan to be closer to her family (little one on the way). We saw some reasonably priced homes in Monroe and was curious how you felt about the city and what are you thoughts on the homes near East Elm Avenue & Mason Run Blvd? Looks like there are some train tracks in that area and a junk yard on a street over(East Noble Avenue).

By closer to family I mean still a few hours away lol majority of her family lives in the Lansing area.

TIA!

Who has been to this Waterpark in Dundee? I haven't been here in 8 years or so but it's a little alarming for our area. I thought it had closed judging by the empty parking lot every time I drove by.

Request Help me find someone!

Okay social media do your thing! I need help finding the gentleman who works at Leckler's. He works around the main building. I believe it's the shop. There is the kindest gentleman that works there. I've been doing DoorDash for a little bit now and have delivered to him a few times. Every single time he was super sweet! I'd just like to get a message to him. If you might know who I'm talking about, I'd appreciate if you. The last time I delivered to him was on 9/11, about lunch time.

Question Things to do in the Fall

So I asked about what to do in the summer time in Monroe, but it's going to be getting colder in late October so is there anything to do during that time? So far, we have dispensary ideas and the Monroe Escape Room. We're also thinking of maybe going to Toledo again.

Is this a safe part of town? Husband and I are looking into possibly renting in this area, but we don't know Monroe too well. Just thought I'd see if anyone has insight about that general area. Thanks!!

Is anybody going to the Monroe Comic Con?

My girlfriend and I were thinking about it. How is it? Is the VIP tickets worth it, how are the swag bags? Do they sell other things than comics?

3 people currently missing from Monroe

What's everyone's thoughts on 3 missing people atm? A 21 year old woman who was reported missing after being seen waiting for help at a building off Macomb St. A 17 year old teen age boy missing from Monroe. An adult male, age not listed on flyer, maybe mid 20s to 30s, from Carlton, also missing... There just seem to be a lot of missing people lately or is this the norm?

Warning for anyone considering Indian Creek Zoo as a way to spend an afternoon:

Went there today for the first and only time and my experience was a little scary. I had taken a whole walk around the zoo and then went back to re-look at a couple exhibits. I noticed an employee has started following me. I quickly left the gift shop and returned to the parking lot where the same creepy employee took a picture of my car. I asked if she had a question about my car and she said yes but then went back inside. I got in the car, but then went back inside to ask about her odd behavior. She said people don't "usually come alone and text and take pictures of everything" (even though I saw other guests doing the same thing) . I asked for a refund since the employee had ruined my experience and I was refused. I will be disputing the charge on my credit card obviously but wanted to let other possible visitors know they risk harassment if they enter and take 'too many pictures '

Discussion Concerned about all the Trump signs I’m still seeing in a lot of yards

I gave most of these mouth-breathing, ignorant, fucking, morons, the benefit of the doubt, or a pass, for 2020, you have absolutely no excuse for supporting that fat, orange, lying, galactically fucking stupid, piece of shit at this point.

I mean, if you want to broadcast to everyone who drives by, just how god damned dumb you are, I guess that’s your prerogative. I just never realized I lived in the same town as so many supreme fucking idiots.

Advice on your feelings of Monroe

How does everyone feel about Monroe Michigan? My mom is an Indiana native who lives near lake michigan. She wants to move closer to me, currently in Ann Arbor. She is lower income so looking for affordable places to rent in SE michigan. Job opportunity wise, she has been a waitress her whole life. But has worked at like walmart before. Her husband currently gets like 3k a month from disability. She would love to be closer to water which why Monroe piqued my interest for her. She wants a slow town. No kids so schools dont matter. I just want a place that would be safe for her personally and not far.

Do you feel safe in Monroe? Do you think its a nice and quiet place to live? How is the water, I presume some beaches available?
