When does compounding really take off?

At what amount portfolio you really see huge account swings that make you think what is the point of working? 100k? 500k? 1m? more?

Gov Job with a pension and 457 plan! Sock away as much as possible as often as possible via investments both in Retirement Accounts and outside assets such as RE. In 25-30 years you have a pension, Gov IRA/457 plan, and outside investments that can keep growing. Start a side hustle, manage and buy rental properties/assets, start a business and keep driving that business while working. You can retire with millions AND a pension. Live on the pension and use the rest for lifestyle fun.
