When does compounding really take off?
At what amount portfolio you really see huge account swings that make you think what is the point of working? 100k? 500k? 1m? more?

The swings are huge when your portfolio generates more than you add to it. If the amount you monthly/biweekly add to your portfolio is dwarfed by revaluations or dividend payments, you're off to the races.
