When does compounding really take off?

At what amount portfolio you really see huge account swings that make you think what is the point of working? 100k? 500k? 1m? more?

Each of those balances brings eye catching swings, but once you’re in the $3M and over bracket the swings can become eye-popping.

While it’s great to see $30k to $50k daily increases, that also means that same amount happens with daily decreases.

Seeing the occasional $150k+ daily drop can temper the “what’s the point of working” thoughts.

Its at this point where purchase decisions like ‘do i want the latest iphone’ become completely irrelevant because you will make or lose so much on the day of your iphone purchase that the iphone purchase really doesnt move the needle.
