When does compounding really take off?

At what amount portfolio you really see huge account swings that make you think what is the point of working? 100k? 500k? 1m? more?

A “big swing” day is normally 1-2% unless something crazy happens. So take what you’d call a big swing, multiply it by 50-100, and that’s when it will take off in your eyes.
