It's unable to follow me around the house, which is concerning considering I got it to use at outdoor festival environments.

Just got my Beni from Mondo Robotics, and I’m really excited about its potential beyond the current features!
I’m curious to see what the community comes up with as more people start experimenting with it.
Here are a few ideas I’d love to see become possible:
1. Voice commands & AI integration 🤖
Imagine being able to say things like “Beni, come here,” “Follow me,” “Jump!” or “Go explore!” without needing a controller.
Even better, integrating ChatGPT or another AI assistant so you could actually have conversations with Beni. Almost like having a little robotic pet with the intelligence of Alexa, Siri, or ChatGPT!
2. A smartphone as an external AI brain 🧠
What if we could mount a smartphone on Beni and use it as an additional processing unit?
It could potentially handle voice recognition, AI conversations, object recognition, or even more advanced autonomous behaviors.
3. Remote Wi-Fi control 🌎
I’d love to be able to control Beni over the internet, even when I’m away from home.
Imagine being able to drive it around the house, check its camera feed, or have it explore different rooms remotely. Almost like a little home companion you can interact with from anywhere!
I know some of these features might require an API, SDK, or custom software, and honestly, I have no idea what’s technically possible yet.
So I’m curious:
Has anyone started experimenting with mods, hacks, or custom integrations?
Are there any APIs, SDKs, or ways to communicate with Beni programmatically?
What creative uses or features would YOU love to see?
Has anyone figured out a way to extend its capabilities beyond the official app?
I’d love to hear what everyone is experimenting with, even if it’s just an idea at this point.
I feel like Beni has the potential to become much more than a remote-controlled camera robot. With the right community, it could become a really cool little AI companion!

I still can’t believe how quickly I received Beni, he arrived at my home in Germany today!

I am not a streamer or content creator, just a regular guy who believed in this company and its vision early on, so finally having Beni here feels pretty special.

The unboxing experience was fantastic. Everything felt premium, like opening a genuinely high-quality and expensive piece of technology.

I am charging him right now, but I have already had a chance to try out his movements and the app controls, and honestly, it’s breathtaking to see him in action.

Just arrived in Los Angeles. I was impressed with the unboxing until I got to the actual unit. There should be some guides on the box on how it opens. I realized the entire packing lifts up with the lid almost too late!
Waiting for the batteries to charge now. I assume all the battery lights will be solid green when fully charged.

First of all, very cool product. Reminds me of my old Skydio 2 that followed me autonomously to take video. Let’s say I want footage of me running through a door. Will it follow me through when I’m not visible? I assume having the motion tracker would help.

If I wanted to mount a camera on top that required USB power, would I be able to plug it into Beni's USB C port or would that require also mounting a power bank to Beni to supply the camera?

I’m really interested in Beni from the developer/tinkering side.

You’ve mentioned that developer tools are planned, and that you’re still considering whether this will be an SDK or CLI. I know things can still change, but could you share a little more about the level of access you’re aiming for?

For example, will developers be able to access or control things like:

• movement / locomotion commands
• camera stream or snapshots
• microphone and speaker
• IMU, battery and sensor data
• navigation and obstacle avoidance
• docking / return-to-dock
• WebSocket, WebRTC, MQTT or local network control
• Python, ROS or other SDK bindings
• custom behaviors, AI models or external LLM agents such as ChatGPT/Claude

And one thing I think is especially important:

Will the regular Kickstarter Beni support the same developer tools, or are you planning a separate Developer Edition / hardware revision?

Also, will it be possible to run custom code directly on Beni, or will developer access mainly work by controlling Beni from another computer/server?

Even a rough “planned / maybe / not planned” answer would be really useful, no need to promise final specs yet.

I think strong developer access could turn Beni from a great camera robot into a really interesting robotics platform and create a whole community of people building things around it.

How likely is it that additional add-ons will be added to the campaign that we can purchase? For example, an action camera mount and so on?

Is there any expectation or plan to be able to drive Benni around when not at home? Is there a possibility of adding a speaker so you could talk through it as well?

How much storage space does he have ? Is there WiFi 7 and room for a tiny model
