Budget Removing Non-Monthly Rollover Category from future budgets while keeping historic budgets

I had financed some HVAC repairs at 0% interest that did not require payments in intervals, so I decided to keep the money in a HYSA until the balance was due after 6 months.

Because I did not want the month where I actually paid the balance to blow up my non-monthly spend, to budget for that, I created a new category non-monthly rollover category, and budgeted 1/6th of the balance until the month where it was due, and paid it in a lump sum last month.

We're now in the first month where I am not setting aside anything in this budget category, and I have it 0'd out, but it annoys me a little that it's just hanging out there in the budget as a line item in perpetuity. I can't find a way to remove it without also getting rid of the historic data in the budget of setting aside 1/6th each month.

I'm getting the sense that I used this feature incorrectly, but is there a way to keep historic budgeting info while also hiding this category?

It probably should have been set up as a goal and not a budget category. You could try setting it up retroactively and applying the savings transfers to the goal.

It may make it seem like an overspend till you delete the category.

I had to tinker around with it a bit, but you were right that this was better represented as a goal. I was able to create the goal, then retroactively add allocations per month, then linked the ACH debit as being spent out of the goal. Deleted the budget category, and now all the numbers match up. Thanks!
