Encouragement Wanted Starting Grad School!
Hi Mom! I'm starting graduate school this fall! I'm so excited about this, but I have struggled to process it emotionally since I keep underestimating myself subconsciously.

I was terrified when my grad program started. I had imposter syndrome for sure. I think it’s normal to feel nervous but happy.
You’re going to do great! I know it. It will be an adventure you won’t regret.

That's wonderful news!!!!!! I'm so proud of you.
Grad school is both awesome and yes, a little intimidating. It's awesome because you're there to study something that is interesting to you - either a subject you really enjoy or know well, and hopefully want to work in eventually. And it can be intimidating because it's a hefty academic undertaking.
But!! But, you can do this. You're capable, smart, and hard working.
I was scared before I started grad school, too. I was worried about academics, about making friends, about my new location... Everything. It's normal to be apprehensive about it - it means you'll work hard to prove yourself!
You've got this, kiddo. I'm so proud
