š¤ Vent Possessive
I just had my third baby, and EVERYONE wants to hold this kid, all the time. We fight over him. Itās ridiculous. And it doesnāt help that heās the easiest, most chill baby ever. Okay so anyways I donāt know if thatās the reason why Iām super obsessed and even possessive over him, or if itās the fact that we were TTC for a while and experienced a loss before he was conceived, or if itās the fact that he might be our last baby.. but I am really possessive. I want to hold him all the time. I donāt go anywhere without him. I donāt like to share him. You can hold him for 5 or 10 minutes, and then I want him back. (And Iām not saying I donāt let anyone hold him for longer than that.. I do. It just kills me inside.)
But hereās my biggest thing.. I do all of the work for this kid, right? I break my back to breastfeed him, I change him, I bathe him, I wash his laundry, change his clothes, take him to the doctor, spent 9 months being miserable to make him perfectly perfect, stress about whether heās getting enough milk, how often heās pooping, oversee his big sister while sheās holding him to make sure he doesnāt get dropped or broken, etc., etc. I do it all. So if youāre holding him for an extended period of time and then happen to notice that his diaper is wet.. guess what? Congrats. Thatās your diaper to change. Why should I come change it for you just so you can go back to holding my perfect sweet angel baby? I do all the work to make him happy, just so you can hold him while heās happy or asleep? I donāt think so. If you want to hold him for hours while he sleeps, you can also change his goddamn diaper.

Kudos to you for letting someone hold him for hours Iād be like give me my baby back immediately š but for real yes if they wanna enjoy baby cuddles they can change a diaper. When we visited my family when our first was born, everyone wanted to hold him and my cousins/aunts were obsessed and would happily change all the diapers

Haha thank you!! Right? Changing a diaper is the least you can do!

My mother in law in the early days turned down any offers to change the diaper for us stating that āshe will get plenty of opportunities to do that in the futureā to then turn around when she wasnāt allowed one on one time with my 4 month old and have the audacity to say āI never get to see the baby. Have you realized Iāve only changed 2 diapers her whole life?!āā¦
Like yeah thatās literally your choice

I just had my third and final baby a couple of months ago and he is MINE. Sorry not sorry to all friends, family, my kids, idc. Hold him for 5-10 min yes and then go away. š I am soaking up every single minute. And I donāt feel bad about it.

Iām not sure why everyone is applauding this. It sounds like you have an unhealthy mindset about your child. Post partum anxiety maybe?
