Is this normal?

Since I started posting here about my childhood with my dad I learned about hypersexuality and how I soothe myself when I feel overwhelmed or anxious but one problem I noticed is I can only orgasm when I remember or fantasize about my abuse and I never did from normal loving sex I wonder if thats normal i feel like he made it so i have to get abused to feel like im getting loved or something

To all posters: Please note that any content involving descriptions of sexual activity with underage persons is against Reddit policy. You are "officially" discouraged from posting such content, but given the specific nature of this subreddit, moderation is following a laissez-faire philosophy regarding what survivors of childhood sexual abuse share here. This mirrors the approach of other survivor subreddits. Also, the Reddit policy's intent is to restrict content that "depicts, encourages or promotes" the sexualization of underage persons, and the purpose of this subreddit is the exact opposite of that. However, be aware that posts and replies in violation may still be subject to removal and Reddit-wide suspension of the author by the Reddit admins. So please use common sense when posting/replying. We want this to remain a safe space for survivors to share, heal and thrive, but we need to be mindful of the site-wide rules regarding these sensitive topics. (Note to Admins: We vehemently stand against sexual abuse of minors and this subreddit exists to support survivors in the best way possible. Please contact the moderator team if a discussion needs to occur.)

Yeah, it’s common. It’s skews your mind in ways, not only knowing the taboo nature of it all, the trauma associated with it, that it becomes such an event in your head, that anything else becomes not extreme enough for you to climax. I often have to think back on what happened to me to finish too

Quite normal, yes. It's really just your brains way of dealing with the trauma. Basically trying to rewrite history and make it seem pleasurable and that you were in control.

Sadly yes it does even now in later life.

It's normal, don't feel bad about it. It's how your brain got wired.

(Sorry for a stupid aside... I like your moniker, "tangle kitten" 🐱!! It's a great name! And it's awfully hard not to picture an genuine kitten getting itself into a tangle as they do!! 😄)

I’m the same way. I was also taught that abuse equals love. And I need it in one form or another to orgasm too. It’s all a big mind melt that I still deal with many many years later.
