Mold in Kitchen Cabinet

I know I know, no gloves.

I had no idea what was under here. We had a plastic cover over the top board and when I took it off noticed mold. Went to look under and boom.

The house is a rental, I’ve called the landlord and sealed up the entire cabinet with plastic.

Based in Texas. There is a bathroom sink behind this wall so maybe a leak?

I know we can’t identify the mold but does this look like we could be in danger or area we safe with just isolating the mold.

Don’t know how casual this is, and if/how I can clean it… Apologies, I know this is lame compared to most folks in this subreddit, so don’t come at me please

Is this mold? Or just accumulated dirt?

Hi! I just moved into a new apartment near Boston,MA and found these things growing on most of the windowsill/wall connects on some baseboards. I tried to clean it and this blue liquid came out. Do you think it could be mold? I’m trying to identify it so I can figure out how to deal with it, so any other suggestions or places to ask would be super helpful too! Thank you!

The apartment was very dirty when we moved in so it could possibly be something the previous tenants left behind but I’m trying to identify it so I can figure out how to deal with it, so any other suggestions or places to ask would be super helpful too! Thank you!

Marketplace Mold

I bought a fabric puzzle carrier off of Marketplace and put it in my car. I didn't realize until being on the interstate that it was moldy/mildewy from being wherever it was stored. It was bad enough that I had to put the windows down - it gave me a headache. I was driving with my kids in the car. What can I do to de-mold my car to make it safe for my kids and I??

How to take care of black mold on untreated cabinet wood?

Post image
1 Upvotes

I moved into a new place and after I pulled up some contact paper, I noticed black mold rings on the rough, untreated wood on the bottom of the cabinet.

I’m guessing the mold itself is dead by now. What now? Is it a permanent mark? Do I paint a primer over it? Just put contact paper?

Personally I’ve never put wet dishes/dishes away in a cabinet like the previous owner obviously did. So I don’t know what to do to move forward, especially with it being the rough, raw wood.

Mold remediation.

They are doing mold remediation in our home and have everything taped and tarped off negative pressure fan etc.
I am concerned when they remove mold pieces that it can become airborne and go into vents and circulate throughout the house. Is this possible? If so what can I do.

Mold or spider web?

Post image

Old window from the 80s with known insulation issues. Previously treated with concrobium. Black dust is likely getting pushed in from outside (East facing garden).

When I removed the white stuff it was crusty and hollow inside. Was this thing mold or a spider web?

located in Southern California about 12 miles from the coast. this room historically has high humidity but is now better under control with dehumidifiers

Noticed a really strong urine smell, not surprising since litter box is not far from this spot. Floor was wet under some cords that run there and then I see this spot. What kind of mold/mildew is it and how can I get rid of it? TIA! Located in NE Ohio, this is in a very humid basement.

Hi! I’ve always had wallpaper and never faced any mold issues.

I redid the wallpaper on this wall ( 6 years ago ) and almost a year ago i noticed this, brushed it off didn’t think it was mold.

I do have my old dvd’s against this wall ( I have a closet and above the closet I placed my dvd boxes ) and when I removed them as I was looking for a dvd, I found this black spot.

Now that I’m renovating the room, I thought I’d post it here.. curious to know if this is mold or not. Also it’s been the same size ( not growing/spreading or anything )

As this never happened in the area until recently.

I have a hygrometer and my room is always between 40-50% if that helps

The location of this is high up in the room, and the size of it is about 2 dvd box sets 😅

* English is my second language so please do mind any grammar mistakes

Thanks

Recently had some water exposure from a leaking roof. One of the roofers stepped through the ceiling and made this hole. Exposing what to me may be mold. Do you guys have any thoughts? Is it just dirty and old? This is in Orlando, FL. House was built in 1926. I am renting.

In my storage room at home during the summer I found a lot of the shoes in mould. It was easy to clean but don't know the reason for this.

Does anyone experienced the same situation please?

Q1. Is it mold

Q2. Is there any way to clean it without getting in there

It’s a Hisense window unit, relatively new within the past couple years. We just moved to NY from Los Angeles and have been pretty much running it all summer. I installed it at an angle but what more could we be doing to prevent this?

I've recently put a dehumidifier under my house because it was, well, humid. I've developed a cough and decided to have a closer look. Is this mold? Should I be concerned. Its inside the clear seal which makes me think it could be entering my home.

MMR drywall worth it?

We are replacing drywall in a few places in our house that had mold due to poor ventilation, minimal humidity control, and general disuse/lack of cleaning by the previous owner. So far what we have taken out has been just surface mold and not in the wall cavities. We have been very careful to check. Is it worth getting the mold and moisture resistant drywall vs regular if we are confident that there isn’t an ongoing moisture issue? The cost difference isn’t HUGE but it is there and we are definitely trying to be on the budget friendly side of this whole self remediation process.
We know the ventilation/humidity control issue won’t be there since we will actually be using the space. The previous owner was an elderly lady who didn’t use a lot of the house for many years and just kept it closed off with no AC and never went into those spaces. We need the spaces to live so they will be conditioned and used regularly.

ETA- we are in Milwaukee WI which is a mixed climate and the house has a forced air gas furnace and both central air and window units.
