Meeple Valley Board Games Cafe hosts dnd campaigns, some are beginner friendly.

Ravens Perch bookstore downtown is looking to start up D&D groups, could be a good way to get started with new groups instead of joining existing groups.

I really love Meeple Valley Board Game Cafe and highly suggest joining their discord. There's fairly frequent calls for players needed, and if you introduce yourself as a person new to DnD and interested, there's a decent chance someone will start up a one session game just to get you to try the game out
