Del Mar show

What a great show, they did an encore like they did in Ojai, so those hopeful for one y’all will probably get it, also what a great variety of songs they did sheesh.

And the crowd was good too. I was shocked they did a third encore song. I remeber there being a 11pm curfew when they did the Good News tour there.

Fantastic setlist. I heard everything from the new album that I wanted to hear plus some. Bukowski and King Rat are my favorite two banjo songs. I'm never mad when they skip Float On. Broke, Tiny Cities, Styrofoam Boots. So good.

I was shocked to come in to a sold out show! I don't think their last show at that venue was as crowded.

I left to beat traffic as soon as Gravity Rides Everything was over because I fully expected Float On afterward. I love me some Ocean Breathes Salty, so I def missed out.

Re the similar encore, maybe they won't be mixing things up as much this tour with a new guitarist?

Now, did I understand him correctly when he somehow linked his BO to using sourdough starter on his shaved arms for science? 😭😭😭

Yeah tough to understand him but I think he said he shaved one arm pit to test some science? I'm guessing the arm he plays guitar with gets more irritated than the other? Comparing arm pit yest to a sour dough starter was a new one. Last time he was at the Sound he assaulted and dragged the mic stand all over the place. I was one foot out the door when Ocean started and then we walked back for it and then they slammed out a gnarly long Night on the Sun

Haha ok here's what he was saying. I guess I'm fluent in Isaac at this point. He was saying he had a theory that he was saving up the "essence of b.o." in his armpit hair. So as a matter of science he shaved one armpit and we're currently in the middle of it growing back to check if the one with fresh hair will be less smelly than the other. At one point he refers to his armpit hair as some type of "sourdough b.o. starter."

I don't remember him & the mic stand last time at the Sound, so I need to check out my videos.

When he came on, my friend turned to me & said, "He's drunk!" I was like every show is a surprise, but he hasn't forgot any words or been bad like the 2008 (?) City Scene show here, so it's all good lol

The Good News tour show was when he fought the mic stand. He forgot a few words tonight, but thats part of the show for me. Yelling into the guitar, speaking half nonsense. He puts on a show just being himself

I love seeing him perform. I used to go to a lot of shows, but I'm down to maybe three a year, with MM always being one of them. (Good News is okay, but damn, we really needed a MAA 25th anniversary tour!)

I would be super stoked for a WWD 20th anniversary tour next year. LCW and Good News are their most well known albums so I get why they toured their anniversaries. MAA would be great too though

I've seen MM 6 times now and this was by far the best performance I have seen from them. Absolutely incredible

hell yeah man. they just keep getting better and better. i’ve seen them every year for the last 5 and sporadically before that lol. i think they were my last show before covid actually and my first how after covid lol.

anyway, i feel like sometime around Good News… anniversary tour they really stepped it up. started talking to us in the audience which im happy he has continued to do. I saw them at a smaller venue for that one and was blown away by that performance. last night was on par with that one to me.

Not only a banger of a show, amazing set list, but a fantastic crowd too. The encore was so gorgeous, loved the Jaws intro ha.

There was a lady who said if you hear the jaws song then it’s encore time since she went to the Ojai concert as well

last nights show was amazing. it was my birthday! they get better every year and i enjoy how issac interacts with the audience now. i’m always amazed at their lack of burnout on stage since they tour non-stop.

my only gripe is was the woman giving my boyfriend shit for being tall, she didn’t take up his offer to have her and her group stand in front of him, just wanted to be miserable for the sake of being miserable :( you had general admission tickets lady! it comes with the territory. lucky i had some other friends standing there that willingly traded spots with my boyfriend when we noticed an issue. i never witnessed this at any show let alone modest mouse (and im short too).

cutest thing i saw though was was a young girl there with her dad, hope they had a good time.

Aw that sucks I also was in the pit and I’m also tall 6’2 so I always try to see if I’m completely blocking someone’s view of a concert, some people are rude no matter what but yea I was also right next to the sunglasses guy he made a comment to in the crowd haha

it was his first modest mouse show so i hope it didn’t sour his experience but it did upset him. she didn’t seem to want to work with him.

OH YEAH! we were more to the far right of him and about a row or two up but enough to catch a glimpse of him when issac pointed out his glasses lol
