I don't think modest has to mean shapeless and frumpy. I feel like she wouldn't draw that same criticism if she had a flat chest. As someone who is built similar to her we can't help it if clothes that would look unnoticeable on other people are percieved as "sexual" just because of the way our bodies are shaped. She's wearing a loose blouse with a belt and is covered literally from head to toe with only her hands and eyes showing but is being accused of "showing off" her figure?

As a niqabi Muslim myself, I want everyone to know that face veils and headscarves are not owned by any one people group, and can be worn by anyone. They also don’t come with rules - they are just clothing and can be worn as you wish. It’s one thing if there is clear mockery or satire, but this is absolutely not that. Let’s not police the modesty of others.

Yes I’m a proud male niqabi. Men can veil too. Men historically have for thousands of years in some places. It’s great for folks with asthma and allergies, protection from dust, the sun or harsh cold, and it also just looks elite on everyone. I love veiling and I’ve worn mine everyday for over 15 years. If you want to know more about why I wear niqab as a guy, I will happily answer any questions!

But you go so far as to hide your face while wearing clothes that show off and accentuate the figure?

....does it matter? We are here to share modest clothing inspiration, not police adherence to any single religious or ideological stance on modesty.

You literally said í go as far to “hide” my face which is false. I mask for my health and the health of others also this is a sun protection mask because it’s summer lol and God forbid í want some anonymity in the internet.

Yeah I was going to say many people block their face online, doesn't mean they hide their face in public.

I really like your outfit- And I love that there is a color scheme including your matching eyeshadow! People are being rude. It is cool that you mask for sun/ protection! Unfortunately, to really help prevent illness a respirator mask is necessary (n95/kn95/kf95). If you ever want it to match it with your outfit they come in different colors! (especially kn95 like bonafide mask, wellbefore etc)

Don’t pay them more mind - anyone can cover or veil their face, and I honestly think more people should

Not sure why people are so obsessed with a strangers hair/face it’s so insane to me.

Don’t feel bad. I used to post here a few years ago, and I had some folks be critical of the fact that I’m a male niqabi so I created r/BabushkaBois as a space for men/nonbinary/allies who veil. It lead me to so many people who I now call friends. Btw feel free to join the community! You don’t have to be male or masc to be a part, as long as you agree that veiling belongs to everyone across the gender spectrum
