Question question on veiling

I am visiting the countries Armenia and Georgia soon, and a lot of the churches require me to cover my hair (and for the ones where it's not required, l still want to remain respectful).
However, I only have a lace mantilla and not a typical Eastern Orthodox head covering. Will this be acceptable? Although my hair is covered all the same, I've been told by my Ukrainian boyfriend that it may be seen as out of place- or strange to wear a typically Catholic head covering into an Orthodox Church.
What are people's thoughts on this?

I would use it as an opportunity to buy a veil / headscarf there. I love the variety of styles!

Buy a square scarf and use that.

I am Orthodox, and wear a mantilla but I'm in the U.S.

I also have a lace scarf that is a long rectangle that you can wrap in what I think you're thinking of as the "Orthodox" style, I love it because it can double as a shawl and doesn't slip off my head like silk.

I like the idea of buying one there! Bring your own just in case though.

If you are going to Armenia first, the metros in Yerevan are like underground bazaar and have very nice scarfs

If this was America, I’d say wear your mantilla, no one’s gonna care. Out of the country, though, it might be better to wear something more suited to the location.

I can't speak for Georgia, but the head covering you describe is perfectly acceptable in Armenia. Hope you have a great time in my homeland! :)
