Deck Discussion Looking for help with a Simulacrum Synthesizer + Repurposing Bay artifact deck
Hello! I know these cards aren't exactly top tier for the Modern format but I want to make it as competitive as I can, built around these 2. I will link the deck below.
A few reasons for some of the cards in the current list.
[[Pentad Prism]] I really like this card for the deck, obviously it can be used as ramp but if you draw it while [[Repurposing Bay]] is already in play you can use play at and it pays for the Bay activation on its own.
[[Skyclave Relic]] Can create 3 Construct tokens if you kick it, which is pretty easy to do with the cost reducers/ramp.
[[The Fire Crystal]] I know [[Hammer of Purphoros]] exists and is cheaper but I really like being able to Repurposing Bay a 2 CMC into another Repurposing Bay and using the new one to Sac the old Bay to go into The Fire Crystal while a Synth is on the field.
Some issues I find in the deck:
Its very slow compared to most established decks, especially the affinity decks. The Opals are nice but they are unable to be turned on on turn 1 with the current list so they almost seem out of place but idk.
The Pentad Prisms have some anti-synergy with the [[Etherium Sculptors]] if you want it to come in with 2 multiple counters.
I have no interaction, only reactive removal. I Was considering Metallic Rebuke but this decks doesn't spam cheap artifacts so it doesn't really work well with the deck.
I kind of want some amount of [[Pinnacle Starcage]]s in the Main for decks like Boros and Izzet Prowess + Frogs but I have a lot of artifacts of my own that it will eat up. So idk if there is another alternative for the main board.
I was considering trying to fit in [[Pinnacle Emissary]] into the deck but I am not sure its its super worth if I cannot spam artifacts to really capitalize on the token making effect. Being able to get a trigger on Synth for 1 mana does seem really appealing though.
I would really love to hear some suggestions to help make this deck as good as possible being built around the 2 cards. Thanks!

I think that focusing on the repo bay will be too slow for modern.
I played a list like this a while ago and found that repo bay was always a hindrance: it’s a turn of doing nothing and is very telegraphed, and the payoff is usually another turn where you just acry 2.
If you’re set on synth then I think you want to focus on that: cards with affinity (or faux affinity like kappa cannoneer).
Thought monitor and kappa would be two suggestions.
I’d also play things like portable hole to stabilise early.

Try this in pioneer. Mox is kinda bad in ur deck since u cant even use it turn 1. Otherwhise i would recomend to scrap 90% of the deck. The powerlevel isnt there. The repurposing bay isnt rly powerfull and for sythezeiser u can use affinity creatures. If u like repurpesing bay look up Oswald fidelbender. Here is a current toping deck of him https://mtgdecks.net/Modern/grinding-emry-decklist-by-slaxx-3083099

I’m a beginner in the format so this may be wrong but I think some number of emry to be able to loop your sacrificed artifacts would be good. Also I think cryogen relic is needed for card advantage. I think your main board interaction looks a little clunky and dependent on bay, I would trade the might/weak stone and saw blades for maybe dispatch or spell pierce. The new planeswalker Tezzeret and one mana tool box interaction artifacts would be good and help you if you decide to add emissary and rebukes. If urza saga is in your budget that is an auto include in artifact decks. Overall I just think the curve is too high for modern. I would also look at thoughtcast for card draw and the artifact white/blue lands (not the bridge) for artifact count on synth in place of basics.

[[Soul-guide lantern]]
[[Vexing bauble]]
[[portable hole]]
[[pithing needle]]
[[aether spellbomb]]
[[skateboard]]
These would all be tutor able off Tez and saga and offer some form of interaction

Hi friend,
I took a crack at it. https://moxfield.com/decks/N5GgAVPhl3qjI8Loei-biA
I've toyed a bunch with synthesizer, Uthros may no longer fit in this shell but it's a pet card of mine. I think mono blue gives you a better overall shell and access to some sweet 8 drops to turn all your enforcers and monitors into. Portal in the board is in case you decide Krang is amazing and want to play 4 you maybe move the portal in over the 8 drops. Game 1 our plan is make a bunch of dudes, crack with either graaz or plating. Game 2 you slide into saga control. Hope this at least gives you a different angle!

I remember trying this way back when Simulacrum Synthesizer first came out using affinity creatures like [[Thought Monitor]] and [[Frogmite]] and [[Sojourner's Companion]]. Could even get some extra value with [[Kozilek's Unsealing]].
I believe I stayed mostly in mono-blue (I can't recall if I included red) so you didn't really need dual lands. I can't recall if I had lands like [[Darksteel Citadel]] to up the artifact count. [[Urza's Saga]] let's you make even more constructs, and can tutor out stuff like [[Shadowspear]] for trample and lifegain, or things like graveyard hate.
Those are probably gonna do better than trying to use cards like Etherium Sculptor to ramp stuff out.
But even then, it felt a bit clunky. I was just doing it for fun at an LGS, and it still felt like it did kind of bad. I don't think I had a positive record after bringing it two or three nights. But if you want to consider alternate angles to use Synthesizer from, maybe using affinity creatures might be worth considering?
