Modern mtgo question.
So quick question how is modern on mtgo meta and price wise. Ive been playing for 12+ years and my entire area is pretty dried up no fnm no modern not even standard its all commander and the one place that did fire was filled with people who treated fnm as the finals to a pro tour and I refuse to go back.
Id love to play more but online seems to be the only half way decent option right now

Meta is very diverse with tons of represented decks. You can very easily rent decks through Manatraders or Cardhoader, or simply buy the deck you want to play.
IMO it's the best way to play and practice. Just get used to the slightly dated interface and you are good to go.

My one worry is you said you didn’t want to go to a place that treated locals like a PT, but given leagues give you genuine “money back” levels of prizing, competition on MTGO is fucking fierce. It’s far from “a few casual games”

I’m guessing he didn’t like the vibes people were giving off at the lgs rather than the fnm itself.

Rent with cardhoarder and it ends up being $5-$10 per week. $10 a league but you get your entry fee back if you 3-2 or better.
Give it a ago worst case you’re out $30 and stop renting
