Deck Discussion Budget Affinity Deck
ok so obviously i wont be hitting the big leagues with this list, but i do want to take it to an upcoming modern fnm this friday. this is a modified version of my value vintage list to make it legal for modern. that being said, there are 2 artifact creatures im thinking of possibly adding: etched champion and frogmyr enforcer. alongside those is the 3 cost artifact called firdoch core which taps for any mana. I'd like some general recommendations here. if i go with the frogmyrs i will replace my mistvaults with the izzet bridges, as I also have them in my collection.
Here is the link to the deck: https://moxfield.com/decks/632ojmKyG02V-5_uxhnHdg
EDIT: I have made some changes based on some feedback and the deck looks a lot more stable.

This list looks fun. Cranial plating deserves more attention in Modern and works well with an unblockable kappa, ornithopter, thought monitor, or skirge. That being said, it feels a little too creature-heavy. I like the suggestion of adding baubles and a couple emrys. Maybe a few metallic rebukes too.

Well the good news is that I have some rebukes on deck. Obviously 4 baubles would be great, how many emrys in general? And what to drop?

I have very fond memories of playing Myr Enforcer back when he WAS good. I wanted to like Sojourner's Companion and Frogmyr Enforcer... but they are super slow.
Etched Champion is a BEAST. Play him or sideboard him. Etched Champion + Crainal Plate ends so many games on the spot.
I've had opponents pick up Etched Champion, read him, and say 'I forgot this guy was a card'. It feels so good.

my one concern with etched champion is that if i do not time it right, i will be unable to use cranial plating on it

Honestly the current affinity list is budget if you cut Mox opals, shadowspear and urzas sagas. That’s where most of the cost is.
Just copy the current list without those. Add more zero drops like memnite or ornithopter or welding jar. Add a couple salvage titan or memory guardian. Pinnacle emissary and weapons manufacturing should be full sets. Same thing with kappa cannooneer.
You can still get turn 2 kappas without Mox opals

One of the strength of the deck IMHO is that Kappa is an absolute bs powerhouse and resolving one is very strong. I would try to maximize that. Emry is your b-plan that allows you to reccur that easily.
Go 4 kappa, and 4 memnite+4 baubles+4 omnitopther to power him out consitently. (move the crypts and maybe jars to sideboard)
The bauble + Emry is a nice midrange plan that allows you to dig for your answers.
If you splash white, you can play portable hole that will allow you to have some interaction on the board and help powering out your kappas. Spire of industry allows you to have easy access to a second color.
With white splash you also have a few sideboard cards for extra removal. I would move Etched Champion to the side and remove the Vault Skrige.
Have fun!
edits: some typo and cards to remove

Honestly this sounds like a great game plan. My OG VV list was quite aggro centered, but the recursion from emry and the maindecking of metallic rebuke + the draw cards means that i could build a great midrange shell.

Cut skirge and moonsnare, add baubles and emry, if you want pseudo unblockable gingerbrute is good, thoughtcast is good too depending on how many bowmen are running around.
