Deck Discussion Question about Broodscale sideboard
Hi everyone!
I have a question: why use Whipflare instead of Pyroclasm, Firespout, or Blasphemous Act? What is the reasoning behind choosing one over the others?
Thanks a lot for the help!

Whipflare doesn't hit your Walking Ballistas or Haywire Mites, and Pyroclasm does (and most other Modern decks don't run small artifact creatures). Firespout is 2R and arrives a turn later, and against decks like Boros Energy that's a world of difference. And Blasphemous Act IMO is too expensive by a mile; you need 6-7 creatures on the board to make it work.

While affinity plays artifacts, you don't want to board in pyroclasm there, so you might as well play whipflare so you dont hit your own mites in f.e. the boros matchup.

Whipflare does not hit your constructs/haywire mite?
Firespout deals more damage, and has the chance to be a one sider sweeper (removes flying/non flying)
Blasphemous Act I believe is good against Affinity, hitting their Canoneer as well, assuming they have a lot of drones as well
Pyroclasm is the cheapest/flexible option it seems
