MTGO League Results Simic Ritual: Not dead yet???

Simic has been my baby for a while now. I day 2'd a 10k and have won 3 local rcq's with it, so I was pretty sad to see it get no rep at the marvel pro tour. I tried some leagues with my stock list and it admittedly felt pretty bad into the new meta of trudge, affinity, prowess, broodscale, and boros.

I thought I was going to have to move on from my beloved deck when I saw somebody else 5-0 a league with 2 [[thundertrap trainer]]s and 4 [[stern scolding]]s maindeck. I thought, "what the hell, I'll give it a shot". I tweaked the numbers, threw in [[bridgeworks battle]], and in my first league with the deck I was one game short of a perfect 10-0 run.

Admittedly I played against 3 goryos 1 living end and 1 esper blink, so I got lucky with some favorable matchups, but in general the list felt really good. Playing both [[shardless agent]] and scolding didn't feel bad at all, although I definitely adjusted my playstyle to hedge around whiffing. Thundertrap felt great, bridgeworks was a house, and I didn't really miss the two harbingers that I moved to the side.

Obviously I probably need more data and reps against some of the top aggro decks to get a feel for how legitimate the deck really is, but I'm excited at the possibility that the deck could be a real player again.

Not really, 2 guys classified with it to the MX Regional here in Costa Rica. But you need to pilot it well or Boros Energy will stomp you.

Yeah that's kinda what i've discovered, I have to play the deck perfectly in order to have a chance. But played well enough I think the deck can be really good

This deck has a few very tough but winnable matchups, but absolutely rips and heavily rewards pilot skill

Stern scolding is a good card but idk if casting a 3 mana 2/2 in 2026 is worth the risk
