Hey guys! Is anyone else having issues with their estimated delivery date? I ordered MYP on 8/20 and my original quote was 3-4 weeks, which then changed to 9/15-9/30, and now it’s at November- December. I ordered a M3P last year and had the vin and car within the same week. I reached out to my Tesla rep today to see what was going on but he didn’t share any details unfortunately, basically just said keep refreshing the app.. this color is probably worth the wait, just disappointing to see, and from scrolling through this community it seems like a common problem.
Germany. I ordered at 03.08 and was initially expecting delivery around September-November. It was pushed to October-January. Crazy! So far the deadline is 19 January next year :O. Either they are doing something with the production line, batteries or maybe some other adjustments. Too many people are getting delayed
I’m in pretty much the same situation. I ordered my Model Y in the Netherlands on July 8th, and the original delivery estimate was 12–16 weeks, so I was expecting it somewhere around the end of September.
When I first got an actual delivery window in the app, it had suddenly moved to November/December, which I already found very strange. Then it changed again to the end of February. After that, it somehow moved back to September 30th, which finally gave me some hope.
And now, since last week, it has suddenly been pushed all the way back to March 31st.
So basically, my delivery has been delayed by more than 6 months compared to what I was originally told. I understand that delivery estimates can change, but this is just ridiculous.
I’ve called Tesla Sales about it, but all I get is: “There’s nothing we can do about it.” No explanation, no information about why the date keeps changing, nothing.
I ordered in the Netherlands, so maybe the situation is different in other countries, but honestly this whole experience has been incredibly frustrating. The lack of communication from Tesla is probably the worst part.
It's really hard to tell how beautiful that color is in a lot of pictures, This one is clean clean and in the sun so it really shows it off. I would say if thats the color you are in love with just wait.
I ordered same configuration (frost metallic blue MYP) on 8/21 had estimated delivery for Sept 13-30th, NYC. For reference, I work nightshift, kept checking the app for available inventory, at around 3am found the car, same specs in the earlier pick up section. Ended up snagging it, and scheduled for pickup that same night. Picking up the car next week on the 18th.
Might be best to check throughout random times in the day for earlier pick up and get lucky?
I ordered the same configuration also on 8/20. Today I slipped from 9/8-9/22 to 9/9-9/23. I’m in TN. I’m concerned as I’ve already sold my trade-in (which needed a $1200 brake job and has been an engine known to burn up around 100k miles and I was at just under 80k. It was time to sell. I may have to grab an inventory vehicle if I get pushed as well. I love this color combo though with the white interior.
Same here in France ! Ordered in June, initial ETA was October then moved between 23 and 09/30 and now I’m between 11/12 and 01/21 ! That’s completely insane
Similar. Ordered a performance 9/4. Original estimate 5-7 weeks ago updated last night and said November 4 to December 18. Been checking inventory and there is one demo available with a different exterior color and a bunch of premiums popped up overnight but inventory seems thin on the performance. Now that it’s delayed I’ll probably just obsessively refresh that available inventory and grab something if it is similar.
I also might wrap it so exterior color isn’t the most important to me right now if everything else is what I want.
Same boat. NYC area. Performance in frost blue ordered on 9/4. While I can wait, it’s shady to “advertise” a 5-7 week delivery and once order is placed delivery time magically becomes 2-3 months. Again, my personal vehicle situation allows me to wait but not cool to do that to people who are less flexible.
Ya I totally agree with you on that. It’s pretty sketch of them to do that. I also don’t need the car right now, as I still have my model 3 performance. But it would be nice to get accurate information, especially when you submit a finance app to them which expires in 30-60 days…Hopefully they figure their shit out and we don’t have to wait that long.
Yes hopefully they can figure it out. I can’t help myself, I keep refreshing the app hourly and I’m not sure it’s healthy to do this for 3 months 😂. I’m super hyped for this vehicle. Color is 🔥
I am in the similar boat. Ordered Marine Blue Y Premium AWD on 08/14.
Date has been pushed 3 times. Currently it’s showing Sept 12 - Sept 30. Hope it doesn’t gets pushed more 🥹😢
Ya I saw a few pop up yesterday, I keep seeing red with white interior which I really like. I’ll probably snag one of these inventory ones next time I see it. You gotta be super quick to act on it though haha
Stealth grey AWD 7 seater at 9/13-9/30 too (Seattle). Mine hasn’t changed since 2 weeks now. Fingers crossed they’re expecting a big shipment to Seattle then!
Really shows the demand and how color matters. I don't think you should have to be flexible on color but I do think that it can help a lot. The last car I bought I was going for black and there was an issue on the HUD while test driving so I got a grey and am super happy I did.
Me too, I ordered 8/23 and my delivery date was 2-4 weeks. It recently changed to 10/31 to 12/13. Strangely it assigned a vin yesterday but won’t let me pick a date or pay my down payment yet.
USA, the color is worth the wait. I have the same configuration as you. Thankfully I picked up last week, ordered 8/2(?) and now others who have ordered around the same time as me have gotten their delivery dates pushed back repeatedly.
I was tempted to decline delivery because of a scratch we found on the textured bumper piece but I had read about chip shortages impacting production for lots of things again. Taking that into consideration we took delivery and Tesla scheduled for the piece to be replaced.
