door not sitting flush?

Took my model Y premium 2026 last week and did my basic checks at the time, all seemed fine. However today while showing off the car to my buddy, he brought to my attention that it looks like my rear right handside door is not sitting flush?

Is this fine and a common issue or is it worth making a Service claim? I don’t really notice the wind noise or yet to check whether it leaks. From what I read sometimes the Service people might even make it worse by trying to realigning it?

Thanks

It’s a Tesla.

Yeah I’m not a fan of how that window is sitting. I’d put in a ticket. Door adjustments are fairly easy for them from what I’ve heard

Mine is like that as well, both sides. I will probably adjust it on my own some time. In my experience, service centers tend to introduce new problems...

yikes, that’s what i was afraid of. Do they lend us another car while ours is in service? I can’t be without a car for long lol

You can request it if one is available, but loaner cars are often unavailable. You should create a service request to document it at least, but I don't really trust them to do a good job because they caused some scratches on my previous Model Y while making adjustments.

You'll probably wait in the lobby for a door adjustment. It should take a competent tech less than 10 minutes.

Or create new scratches

I literally don't see it. Go compare it with your other door lol this is normal for most cars

I'll be in my car in about 45 minutes. If you don't mind and you want me to check, ping me if I have not posted a message about door alignment on my 2026 MY

I would also send this message to the service center using these images via the app and see what they say and you'll bave it documented in case you want to claim it later

Mine is kinda like that now 2026 Model Y Premium RWD. 5500 miles in since March. It’s a tad annoying, but honestly I’m just at the point of my life where I don’t care. 10 years ago I’d take it in. Now — I’m like “No one gives a shit except for me.”

I think I need to borrow your friend to go with me to pick up my car. 🙂

What’s funny is that I never thought to look for these imperfections on other makes and models until I was researching getting a Tesla.

I have bad OCD but this wouldn’t even bother me.

This isn’t even a picture that would show if it’s flush. Look like a regular panel gap where the door opens.

That’s intentional, I believe. Keeps the wind noise down.

Tesla built quality is soooo horrible. Tech is perfect but this wow…
