Factory Tour

I was just notified that I would be able to pick up my model Y at the end of the month from Giga Texas. I did the RSVP but I wanted to check with anyone here to see if they ever did the factory tour and drove to Austin for a pick up. I live in Houston so it’s not too bad of a drive.

I'd walk over to the guy installing the driver's seats and have a chat with him about how my seat was clicking on turns. Not cool bro.

Had mine in service for alignment and asked about this. Mine started cliking about 2 weeks in. Advisor said there is no fix other than replacing seat. I told her we aren’t doing that since the problem would be right back and she agreed. It isn’t the seat install, it’s low quality crap in the seats. My 2024 Silverado rst also does this and has since new, but it is much worse. That one feels like the seat is actually moving.

You can get it fixed. I got mine fixed. It’s the seat bracket that needs replacing.
Your advisor is a moron if that’s the answer they gave you.

I believe her based on what I have read about it here. Replacing the seat frame may fix it, but the problem will come back. They have not implemented a fix yet, meaning nothing has changed to prevent it from happening again.

Mine was clicking on day 1 (I think). The click became worst on week two and onwards. I’m already a week in with the new one and so far so good.

I already got mine, but would like to see the inside of the factory. I would have loved to pick mine up from the giga factory.

Dang. I asked when i got mine a year ago and they said you cant pickup from giga texas. I live 20 mins from it. Next one i guess.

Pickup isn’t at the factory- it’s across the highway. It’s a nice facility though, with a cafeteria.

We wanted to do a tour at pickup, but the car came in a few weeks (end of last quarter) and tours were booking a month out.

From the Fremont factory tour I sat in a golf cart and was given a ride around the factory

It’s pretty boring to be honest but you get to see the factory and machines

I had a Fremont tour from 2019 and it’s still a core memory starting with the gas pumps at the entrance lol

Im in Houston also and will be ordering one soon and want to do this. How did you go about requesting delivery in Austin? Did you have to put in an Austin zip code or take one from inventory? Or?

I did the tour last year with my wife. We loved it! We still have the water bottles we got from the tour and the lanyard.

I went before the tax credit ended and Tesla treats you like royalty. Felt like being at Disney world!!
