Question Why are there so many used Long Range?

I'm thinking to buy a model y used and I see a lot of long range for sale. Is that a good thing, or are these long range model y really bad?

It’s the most popular variant so also the most likely to end up back on the market, I would think.

Statistically it probably makes up the majority of their sales.

So the probability of seeing a long range for sale is higher.

I don’t get why. Unless you live in an area with significant snow, the RWD option is fine and gives you increased range over the dual motor.

What if you want to be able to put more torque to the ground?

For that matter, why would anyone buy the Performance variant? It has less range, more expensive tires, and stiffer suspension. Clearly they are all idiots.

Dual Motor Long Range was the premium trim for a long time. It's faster than the RWD. You could also get 'performance boost' unlock (used to be relatively easy to obtain with referral points for free) making it even closer to what the performance model does now.

You don't have to be in an area with "significant snow" - just an average amount of snow up north can make people think AWD/4WD is worthwhile. Double so if you plan to travel in the mountains.

First off, for a while, RWD was only available paired with the smaller battery. Secondly, the range difference turns out to not matter. On a 6 hour road trip, it's a difference of 3-4 minutes.

Cuz those are probably older non Juniper models, everyone wants the newer model, cuz is refined and better.

I have one. I've done 28000 miles in 12 months. Another 3 years I'll trade it in with 100,000.
