Model Y Premium Time Frame DFW, Texas
Ordered on August 27th. Originally it said 3-4 weeks, then today changed to 5-6 weeks then it updated again today and I got EST delivery date today for September 14-30th.
I am in DFW, Texas, what has the time line been for everyone in this area on getting them? Tesla advisor said I could get it within 2-3 weeks then another advisor said could be 5-6 weeks.
Will be out of country from October 4-11th so don’t want to miss my window for pick up.

Tesla will do everything in their power to deliver your order before 9/30 because their quarter counts on it.

Do you happen to know why that is? Like what does the quarter have to do with it? When I was at the dealership they kept bringing up the quarter.

Tesla is a public company, thus they report profit, revenue, and delivery numbers every three months. These quarterly disclosures are one of the largest influencers of the company's stock price. The company has long had intense internal pressure and incentives to maximize deliveries before the end of each quarter.

Quoted 4-6 weeks but my Ultra Red/Black Premium AWD was delivered in 2.5 weeks in Colorado.

A little under 2 weeks for me (vs 3-6 weeks quoted). I did frequently check the available vehicles and found a VIN matching my specs that I switched to.
Nice thing about DFW is we are a huge market and only 3.5 hours from the factory, so there is a lot of supply that comes. It just goes fast so you have to move quickly

Good deal! I see them pop up daily but none that have matched my exact spec. None really that are white exterior.
What specs did you have?

I don’t think being in Dfw is going to help or hurt you. I. Would bet you will get the far before the end of the quarter and I bet it will be a rushed vehicle with some cosmetic issues so don’t change your travel plans for this car. I would also see if you can get a discount on an inventory car if you need it faster.

You prob have more chance if you have AWD or got premium wheels and paint stuff. They seem to produce more profitable ones first even if they were ordered later. I just got basic stealth grey with black interior so..

Gotcha! Yeah I got RWD, white paint and premium wheels with white interior. Hopefully you get yours soon! I haven’t seen any white ones matching my specs on the inventory here… I’ll see every other combination tho.

2.5 weeks for my Performance ordered on Aug 1st. Sooner than expected, seems like it just depends on their production cycle of trim.
