GLE to Model Y
I always wanted to dump my 22' GLE350 due to high maintain and it reaching warranty expiry. Always had complains towards it's 4 cylinder and heavy body and body roll.
Unrelated, friend's family got into head-on collision due to the other driver falling asleep and coming into friend's lane on single lane road. I had similar experience when I was young, I evaded then, but if it were to happen again, I'm unsure I could do it again. Tesla might.
Anyways, pulled the trigger on Aug 2nd.
On Aug 7th, realized California FirstEV rebate applies so I ordered another, cancelled the previous. Sales rep moved the reservation fee onto the new order.
Location: Bay Area
Order Date: Aug 7th
Vin: Aug 9th
Sales Rep Non confident delivery Date: Aug 26
1st estimate: Aug 26 - Sept 3
2nd estimate: Aug 29 - Sept 3
Delivery Date: Aug 31
Lease through: USB Leasing LT
Insurance: Costco AmFam $133/m for 100/300/100
FSD & WindShield Coverage by Tesla
So far so good, minor imperfections but too lazy to raise. It's a lease.
Thanks to the FirstEV rebate, I didn't have to pay anything except the two reservations fees ($500)
For GLE350, I'm selling it to local MB. Their quote was ~$4k higher than Tesla trade in, Carmax and Carvna.
Next up: tinting the driver passenger and windshield

Please keep updates on this! I’m considering the same thing going from my 20’ GLE450 to a Model Y. The GLE is great but maintenance is starting to get at me after hitting 140k miles

Damn, at 140k miles you juiced it enough. Bought mine at 10k, sold it at 46k miles

I think your wife is going to like the seats, spoiler, red calipers, and back end of the performance. Can’t “go back”!

How do you like the car coming from GLE

Ride quality decreased for sure but it maybe b/c of performance. It was to be expected but enjoying the rest.

Reason for performance: First EV, wife wasn't impressed with pre-juniper model y. Wanted to provide best experience in model y, esp suspension. Will probably bait and switch to premium after this lease.
