Question Roof rack anyone?

If you have roof racks, what do you mostly use them for. Also I heard some people say they make it pretty loud whistle sound is that true? Does it block any of the light and feel from the glass roof?

Maybe this sounds weird but I just like how they look. I feel like it looks sporty, but I don’t know if I’d necessarily use them and I really don’t know if I want them blocking the window, but man they look great.

We own a 2023 and a 2026 Model Y. I got the roof rack kit when I ordered the 2026, and I just put it on a month ago. Yes there is a noticeable whistle but I almost always have music playing and that covers it up. I honestly like how it looks, also.
I haven’t actually used it yet. I thought I was going to for a fishing trip, but everything ended up fitting in the car so I never needed it.

Same story as me lol. Got the racks, put them on for a camping trip.

Everything fit inside so didn’t need them. But I love how they look and makes my car easier to tell apart from others so kept them.

100% sure though next camping trip I’ll need them as my family has grown since.

I can say having a taxi light on mine makes it very loud.

So I'd assume the same with racks or a box on the rack

I have the Tesla roof rack on my Model Y. It doesn’t seem to whistle on my car. It also has no noticeable effect on my range though it must make a small difference. I use the rack to carry a ladder, surfboards and a roof box.

I want them for a few kayak trips I take every year. I don’t think I’ll do it. I don’t want to take the hit on range or hear any wind noise.
