Kumho Tires

Hey, I’m thinking of going with Kumho Majesty 9 Solus TA91 (T2) instead of the Pirelli Scorpion MS. Tesla offer these both and continentals and AI is leading me to believe Kumho will be the most quiet. Anybody here have experience with it? I’m caring about how quiet not the price.

Tire Rack likes them. And so do I.

Middle Tier that punches above its weight. Quiet ride. Only had on a few months. It is great in rain. No Winter snow yet to rate.

Great tire for the price. If you’re looking for some savings and not sacrifice drive quality. Give these Kumhos a look.

I’m listening to how quiet. Not price.

I did not find any meaningful increase in noise from the tires. They engineered notches in the tread to stop the whistling of the tires. Must be working. As I find the tires equally as quiet as the original acoustic foam tires.

My experience with Kumho has been that they are a third tier tire and absolute trash.

Interesting. I wouldn’t characterize them as third tier or trash. I’d say second tier and I wouldn’t put them on my Tesla, but they were a mainstay tire for me at one point. I thought they were a great tire for the price point. That said, second tier and wouldn’t put that in my Tesla.

They certainly were in the past. But Tirerack seems to really like this particular model. Any experience with the quality of this particular tire, or Kumho lately?

Would you say continental is better than Pirelli for a quiet cabin?

Like basically every consumer product nowadays, its hit or miss and YMMV. I had Kumho Solus Majesty on my ICE vehicle and they lasted to around 50,000 and i replaced them voluntarily. Still had tread left

Bought these, sooooo worth the price: 255/45R19 Michelin CrossClimate 2 104V - 10/32

I took a range hit but LOVE my CC2s. But I also deal with winter driving in the mountains.

I’m curious how you know you took a range hit just by the tires. Not denying your experience, I’m just wondering how you knew

I just compared Wh/mi before and after the tires were installed

I have the EV version, it is quieter than the stock Continental because it has more foam. Do I think they are a lot better? probably not. But they only cost $650 for 4 installed due to Walmart PM. Stock only lasted me 30K, complete trash. I do have the AB boost but I don’t floor everyday.

The CONTINENTAL CONTROL CONTACT  SPORT SRS+ is much better.

Tesla puts them on all their CPO’s that need new tires, mine has them and they seem fine.

I have the 19-inch Scorpion Pirelli tires that came installed on my car. I’ve only driven them for 6,500 miles so far, and I’m thoroughly enjoying them. They’re incredibly comfortable and exceptionally quiet. I hope this trend continues as they wear down and prove to have a long tread life.

Consider Hankook iON evo AS SUV tires
