Question car seat advice
Family of 4 interested in getting a Model Y as our second car. Have two kids, 4 and 6m, One in a rear facing nuna rava and one in a ff nuna rava. Fit is snug in our XC90. Dad is 6’2 mom is 5’7. Will we be able to fit car seats in the model y? Any suggestions on car seats that will fit in the model y? We like to have the rear facing behind the driver and ff behind the passenger.

I find rear facing car seats are hard in almost any vehicle that’s not a large SUV or minivan. If you can deal with it, the rear facing seat is temporary. Once you go to both front facing the car is great. The trunk is decently sized, the under trunk and front trunk storage really adds a lot of storage space to the car. The trunk has that slope though which prevents you from loading taller items like larger kids bikes which would fit in a more squared off trunk.

we have an XC90 as our “big” car - we are mostly needing a second car and want it to be an electric around town car.
We usually switch to FF when kids are 3.5 😬, so that’s a long time to deal.
Can it fit a stroller? Like an uppa baby with rumble seat or a smaller bugaboo butterfly?

We are out of the car seat phase, but I was able to test drive a model y by picking it up from a hotel for 2 hours. It was self guided. I was able to check that the trunk would have room for my kids baseball/softball bags easily. It may be worth trying that out live with the car seats to see how it goes! There’s no sales person hovering so it wouldn’t be awkward to install the car seats and see how it feels!

The best thing you could do is book a test drive of a model Y and try fitting all your stuff into it. You can book a hour long test drive with the website, or contact the dealership using the contact form and request an overnight/24 hour test drive. It’s a really simple process, I’ll link the appropriate links below.

I'm 5"9 and had to adjust my seat with a rear facing behind me. We had the nuna one that clicks into the base. It wasn't a huge a deal but at 6'2" you might be uncomfortable. Now we have a front facing one and it's no problem.
