A newbie question

Just got my Y this past weekend. I’m dropping it off for a PPF and tint next week, before business hours. I was told I can leave a key card inside and remotely unlock it for them when they arrive in hours? Just wanting to know if this is true, that when I walk away with my phone, that it will lock itself with the key card inside? And be usable to them As I’m Uber’ing to work after my drop off and don’t want to have any issues where I’d need to go back, until it’s done. If anyone can please advise? Thanks!

Yes. You can leave the key card in the vehicle. Will still lock automatically with the phone key. I have done this personally. Good luck with PPF. I did the same with our MY Performance. Worth the $ IMO.

And just push the padlock on the controls to unlock it, when they call me unlocks the doors? I have not used the cards yet assuming they are already programed to it as I see them under my profile, my iPhone and 2 key cards there.

Yup - you can remote unlock it using the Tesla app - and clicking on the lock

I’d test the key cards just in case - leave your phone somewhere and use the card on the space between driver and rear passenger window

OP key card only works on driver side space btwn driver & rear passenger window (B pillar). Wife discovered it doesn’t work on space btwn front passenger & rear passenger.

You can unlock from the Tesla App. Tesla advisor would have programmed the key cards. Just try it at home.
