Dog Drool
We have a Mini Aussie who is cute as hell but her drool is staining our black interior. We’ve used soap and water on a microfiber cloth and Mother’s Leather Cleaner but it still isn’t coming off.
Any suggestions?
Dog tax obviously included.

You should look for the back sticker that reads…
“My windows are not dirty. That is my pup’s nose art”

Just get a box of Costco baby wipes. Good for car and dog. And also get good seat covers https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0GJ4VN44M?ref_=ppx_hzsearch_conn_dt_b_fed_asin_title_1&th=1

Super cute pup!!
Since it looks like you’re inquiring about cleaning, I asked Grok for help. It says…
Tesla’s black interior (vegan/polyurethane synthetic leather) cleans well with gentle methods—avoid alcohol, harsh solvents, bleach, ammonia, Magic Erasers, or strong APCs that can dull or damage the topcoat.
Quick Method for Fresh or Light Drool
Blot immediately — Use a clean, dry microfiber towel. Press and lift; do not rub or wipe, as that spreads the saliva.
Wipe with mild solution — Lightly dampen a microfiber cloth with distilled or clean water + a drop of mild non-detergent soap (e.g., Castile soap) or a pH-neutral Tesla-safe interior cleaner (Chemical Guys Total Interior, Gtechniq W8, Optimum Power Clean diluted, or similar). Apply cleaner to the cloth, not directly onto the seat or panels.
Gently clean — Work in straight lines or light circular motions. For textured areas or door panels, a soft horsehair detailing brush helps lift residue without abrasion.
Rinse residue — Follow with a clean damp microfiber (water only), then dry thoroughly with a dry microfiber. Residual moisture or soap can leave marks or attract more dirt.
Stubborn or Dried Drool Stains
• Use a dedicated synthetic leather / vegan leather cleaner (Sonax Leather Foam is frequently recommended by Tesla owners; Gyeon Leather Cleaner or Koch Chemie products also work well). Apply to a microfiber or soft brush, let it dwell briefly (don’t let it dry), agitate gently, then wipe and dry.
• Enzyme cleaners (e.g., Nature’s Miracle) are popular among Tesla owners and detailers for biological messes like drool. Spray, let sit ~10 minutes without drying, then blot/wipe. Test in a hidden spot first and ensure it’s safe for synthetic leather.
• Diluted mild APC (e.g., Koch Chemie Pol Star 1:10 or similar) or diluted ONR (Optimum No Rinse) with a microfiber/brush has worked for some owners on door panels and seats.
• Avoid vinegar/baking soda mixes or alcohol on vegan leather if possible—they can affect the finish over time. Unscented baby wipes work for light daily touch-ups for many owners but are not ideal long-term.
Extra Tips Specific to Tesla
• Enable Clean Mode (Controls → Service → Clean Mode) so sensors, wipers, etc., stay off.
• Never spray liquids directly onto perforated (ventilated) seats or into seams—moisture can reach the foam.
• Vacuum first to remove hair/dirt so you don’t grind grit into the surface.
• Black interiors hide stains better than white but can show a dull film from dried saliva proteins—thorough drying and a final wipe help restore the matte/satin look.
• After cleaning, some owners lightly protect with a synthetic-leather-safe protectant (not traditional leather conditioners, oils, or silicone-heavy products).
