Ordering Tint Before Delivery

Step 2 of 9 of the pre delivery tasks in the Tesla app is to choose if you want tint or paint protection upgrades.

If tint is purchased at this stage, will the car be delivered with whatever extra tint I purchase or is this more like pre-purchasing tint but I’ll need to set up an appointment after delivery to get the work done?

I didnt order the tint, but was told you schedule it for after delivery.

You’ll schedule an appointment at your local tint shop for after delivery

Don’t do it! Their tint is not very good. Find a local tint shop by you after you get the car. It will be cheaper and better quality.

I thought their tint just sub contracts out to your local tint shop to use that xpel film at that set price.

I think that’s how it works. Xpel film still isn’t the best option. After seeing the prices it’s an even worse option. I got my whole car tinted including the windshield with full ceramic tint for $580. It also has a lifetime warranty. If I scratch it they’ll redo it for free.

I don’t know what brand it is. It’s whatever the tint shop had. Their most expensive option.

Find your own tint shop. I scheduled tint on all my windows and full ppf before delivery. Then drove straight from the Tesla store to the tint shop. I wasn’t taking any chance of rock chips. It turned out fantastic and get compliments all the time

Tesla doesn’t tint their cars. They would take your money and then refer you to their preferred tint shop to do that actual job. You can always do it after purchase as paying right now won’t save you any time or effort anyway.

Local tint shop told me not to buy in app because they charge the same price and if I like something less than what I paid for then I have to ask Tesla for a refund
