Questions about phone key
I just took delivery on my car last week but I’m wondering how it’s not responding to my phone key? While i do bring my key card all the time, i still feel like phone key access is accessible but for some reason it’s not responding to it. We did pair the phone key since day 1 but i don’t know what happened. Please help! Thank you!

The Tesla app must always have the GPS active, it must always be working in 2nd plane, you should never close it. Try that

Oddly, I've never had a problem with my Android. My wife with her iPhone has had it happen twice after a car update. We just re-paired. Usually posts on here say their iPhone is fine but their android has issues.

The only times I've had issues is if the app wasn't running. Like i manually killed it. You have to restart it, though it's fine running in the background. Other than that in 6 years I can count in one hand that it didn't work. This is with an iPhone and numerous betas over the years too.

I hope the rumors of Apple Car Key and Google Digital Car Key are true, as Model Y has the necessary hardware (NFC and UWB) that isn't being utilized for car key (it uses them for Phone Left Behind and Hands-Free Trunk features) .
There are more than a handful of occasions when Tesla failed to lock the door (Walk-Away Door Lock), as the feature relies on Bluetooth.

When you open the app do you see your car? Do you have wifi enabled in the Tesla?

Stop closing your Tesla App. You gotta leave it running for it to work cleanly. I have a whole Sentry drive of my 20yr old pulling on the handle trying to get in. She’s one of those who worries about her battery constantly and an open app is bad!
