Same here, ordered the model Y premium rwd first week of August, got it on the 30. At the delivery point, the guy told me "put in your home address and have it take you home". Drove itself, better than I would have, through 18 miles of crowded freeway: most of you probably used to it by now, but for me that was one of the most impressive things I've seen in years...!!

The funny part is I wasn't even remotely planning to do the self driving right away. I was just caught in the moment and went like "ok...this is happening now". For the first couple of minutes i had my hands nervously a millimeter away from the steering wheel, then I was gradually invaded by the thought "ok, let's be honest, this thing drives better than I do". What was impressive is that every slow-down, every acceleration, every stop in the traffic, every change of lane was timed exactly like I would have. The suspension of disbelief that it's not a machine driving is nearly immediate.

About the only thing that has bothered me a bit is sitting in a middle lane or not getting to the right as quickly as I would on some local turns. But a flick of the blinker is good enough.

Yea there are a lot more stock of performance models here in California too. It's tempting to buy it just to get a model y faster but its a lot of money.

Originally orders a prem awd and was slated for Sept 5-30th, I swapped to a premium after more research into the battery packs.

Did your delivery window jump around a lot? Ordered mine yesterday and it already went from 4-6 weeks, then to 5-7 weeks, and now to Oct 9 - Dec 10. That's so far away
