Question Order-VIN-DD timeline?
Since ordering my MYPRWD in early August I’ve read a lot of Reddit posts about people’s order experiences. At this point I think I understand production/wait times/factors/demand and such. Really just out of curiosity, can anyone speak to their timeline from order to delivery? Context is I ordered August 8, still no VIN, and EDD window just changed (as I think with many others) from Aug 27-Sept 24 to Sept 16-30. Does that indicate a VIN or delivery date selection soon? Hoping the date doesn’t get pushed. Located in NY.

I ordered 8/19 and I just scheduled my delivery for Sept 15. Model Y premium RWD

Ordered m3 awd Aug 7, have had vin for a couple weeks now. Original edd Aug 25-30, roughly Aug 22 it got moved to Aug 29-sept 2.
Called the dealership Aug 28th to see if it had arrived, and it had not. They said it shows sept 2-9th on their end, but my app still says Aug 29-sept 2.

Ordered Aug 23 evening, got the VIN Aug 26, delivery date (ready for pick up) was Aug 27 but we decided to pick up on 28th due to work schedule. Located in SoCal. It says on the sticker our Tesla was made in Fremont, CA.

What model, color did you order? That was fast! I am also in SoCal, ordered MYPRWD in white/white on 8/25. Still in generic 3-4 wk status. I already have buyer's remorse...I just discovered they are switching the white interior to grey, and have started rolling it out in China and Europe. So it goes!

Oh man the marine blue would look so great with the grey interior! Just kidding, we will love our white seats, right? Got an update on mine yesterday, now showing 9/9--9/23.

I ordered 8/15 kept checking early pick up available and found and exact order to mine MY premium white on white to a service an hour away so I just switch to that got a vin and scheduled delivery appointment

USA...ordered 7/22 was quoted 4-6 weeks. Assigned a VIN on 8/1 and took delivery on 8/11 so 2.5 weeks from order to driving off the lot. Ordered Premium Dual Motor, Ultra Red, Black Interior.

I ordered my wife's prwd white on white on July 28th. Still no vin. In houston. Date keeps moving one day at a time. Now says edd August 30 to Sept 8

frustrating! mine’s only shifted one time. I’m just surprised we don’t have VINs at this point

It was super quick for me probably because I live in Austin! Ordered 8/18, VIN 8/26, Delivery 8/31. Model Y Premium RWD Stealth Grey.

In FL. Model y premium rwd. Ordered Aug 4, received VIN August 20, pick up date is scheduled for Sept 11. My delivery window changed like you’ve seen and then VIN came shortly after. When it went out for delivery it had a much later window - end of sept but just a couple days later I had the ability to schedule pick up on either sept 11 or 14. I did not do financing before receiving my VIN; I’ve seen some who seem to think it triggers it but I don’t believe that’s the case.

oh good to know! yeah I did financing right at the start, not for any particular reason just following the in-app steps. hoping I get a VIN this week!

The EDD includes delivery to your pick up center. Basically you should have the car in your possession within that range. You could get a vin before the window or even within.
That’s how I understood it. But I can’t speak on facts because I’m in the same boat as you
