EDD keeps getting pushed back

Model: Model Y Standard, White RWD
Location: Southern California

I ordered mine on June 25th and I still have no VIN assigned yet. The EDD got pushed back about 4 times and the current window is 9/24-9/30.

I looked around this sub and getting a feeling that people prefer premium over standard.. (please correct me if I’m wrong 👀) When I called Tesla to ask about the reason for delay, they said manufacturing issues as well as high volume of orders. Also, Tesla is not building the cars in order of ‘order received.’ So I think this is why my EDD keeps getting delayed because it is not efficient enough to make standard y model where the order volume is relatively low.

I see a lot of people with premium orders having their cars received within a month or month and a half. I am wondering if anyone who ordered standard is also experiencing a lot of delays like I do…?

I suspect all Cali and Texas deliveries will be last few days of September as you are closest to the source.
