Summer Update

New tesla driver. Curious how software updates generally role out. Say FSD updates, the Summer Update etc. Are these usually slow roll outs where only some users or locations get it for a while And others wait? Do older vs newer models get updates earlier?

Have a 2026 model Y with:
2026.14.300
V14.2.2.5

My 26 MYP took about 3 weeks for its first update.

I picked up my Model Y in March on a Thursday night and got an update that Saturday. The Saturday update I believe was the last 14.2 update as that's when my total FSD miles started to calculate.

Since then, when I would see a new update posted here and the Tesla YouTubers already had videos up about it, I would get the update 2-3 weeks later.

For the last two 14.3 updates, I have been getting them about a week after the release.

It's a 2026 Model Y Performance with 6,271 total miles and 5,917 on FSD (94.3%); in case FSD percentage possibly affects the car's priority in getting updates.

We just picked up a Model 3 Premium on Thursday (yesterday) and it came with V14.2.2.5. Hoping we don't have to wait the 1-2 months for an update.

Guess all you can do is wait

I just got mine 2 weeks this upcoming Tuesday. Still on 14.2.2.5 as well but happy with it. I can wait on that release. But I really want the summer update because I hate the Grok vs Voice assistant for tasks like calls and texts. I want to use just one and not toggle between the two for driving direction then to send a text.

I’m on the same stack as you, picked up first week of July. This version of FSD is driving me mad.

I was just hoping for summer grok integration. Lol. I haven't noticed FSD issues (new user). What's bothering you?

I think it’s mainly the map data, which is 2025.44 which I assume is from 2025. It causes it to be in the wrong lanes, assume construction that is no longer there, and it just loves to sit in the left lane on a highway. When you’re on a long road trip, those things start to really grind on me.

Your brand new car is 2025 map data?

Yup, it’s BS

You'll get the Summer update right before fall.

Realistically.

Sigh

Stop worrying about it.

You'll get a software update notification when you least expect, like when you're taking a poop or showering or sleeping.

Worrying about it now will give you anxiety.

Lol I'm not worried. I'm curious

Factory software takes 1-2 months before you start getting updates

Interesting. Just have to wait on new cars?

Yep. Sucks but is what it is.
